Citizens Advice Wiltshire‘s ‘drop in’ service and face to face appointments have been temporarily suspended until further notice. For the time being, they are operating a telephone and email only service. Extra advisers are being deployed to operate the telephone helpline during this time.

Contact details and opening hours for the temporary service are as follows:

For advice about Universal Credit, please call: 0800 144 8 444 (freephone) Monday – Friday 8am – 6pm.

If you’ve got less money because of coronavirus their advice can help you work out what you can do. Here’s some useful information they have provided: –

If you’re struggling to pay your bills, like your rent, mortgage, energy bills or council tax, or are worried about being evicted you can check what help you can get here.

You might be able to claim benefits, or get more money on your current benefits. This includes any ‘statutory sick pay’ your employer might give you. Check what benefits you can get here

If your employer tells you not to work because of coronavirus, for example if your place of work has shut down or there’s no work for you, your employer can use the government Coronavirus Job Retention scheme to pay you while there’s no work to do. You can find out how the scheme works here

You can find out more information about what Coronavirus means for you here

If you need any further advice, they are still available for help.
You can contact Citizens Advice Wiltshire by phone on 03444 111 444, by email, via their local website, just complete the short ‘Contact us’ enquiry form here.
