SUMMARY:Loose Threads: The Don Little Collection X Bath Textile Artists
DESCRIPTION:Now available to visit online! A celebration of the heritage of Chippenham and the surrounding area\, Loose Threads is a collaborative exhibition between Chippenham Museum and Bath Textile Artists. \nThe exhibition centres on the Don Little Collection. Donald Little lived in Chippenham his entire life and bequeathed to Chippenham Museum his vast collection of postcards\, photographs and ephemera relating to the town. Alongside the collection will be works especially created by the Bath Textile Artists in response to different parts of the collection as diverse as Goss crested china\, World War One postcards and Don’s personal family photographs. View the exhibition on Chippenham Museum’s website here. \nChippenham Museum has launched two online talks and a February half term activity linked to the exhibition – all free to enjoy from home until the museum can re-open again. \nChippenham Museum is a Chippenham Town Council facility. When back open\, the museum is free entry with two floors of galleries and level access throughout. Open 10am – 4pm every day except Sunday. \nImage: ‘Patchwork of Life’ by Diane Jackson\, featuring a photograph of Don Little\, is one of the artworks by Bath Textile Artists in the exhibition.

SUMMARY:Make Your Own Filters Photography Workshop with The Photo Club
DESCRIPTION:Let’s get creative and make our own photography filters with household goods. During this workshop\, we will cover how to create fantastic photographs using DIY filters. \nThe workshop is aimed at ages 7-19 years old. Don’t be put off by the age gap\, tasks and challenges are adjusted depending on age and skill level. You don’t need a fancy camera for this workshop\, anything that has the ability to take a photograph will work great. Eg: Phone\, Tablet\, compact camera\, SLR. During this workshop\, you will take part in interactive games and challenges. By the end of the workshop\, you will have made your very own DIY filters and learnt how to use them effectively. \nThe workshop is split up into 3 parts. Part 1: introduction\, game\, photography challenge and task explained. Part 2: Make your DIY filters and complete the task in your home. Part 3: join the group to show off our photographs and DIY filters. \nBook your place on the workshop here.This workshop is funded by Chippenham Borough Lands Charity as part of the Fringe Feb Festival.

The garments have been made using a range of up-cycled materials and have been individually decorated by talented local artists and crafts people.\nThere is a look-book and programme available to accompany the short film\, which enables you to take a closer look at their beautiful work. Then take part in the live\, making tutorial with Refashion My Town which will give you the opportunity to sew one of the garments yourself. The tutorial is suitable for all skill levels and there will be a Q&A at the end of the session. The pattern instructions are available to download when you book your free place for event here. \n\n\nNote: We advise that you download the pattern prior to event\, so we can help clarify anything that may be unclear during the workshop. \nRefashion My Town promotes the reuse and up-cycling of clothing and fabric amongst young people in the area\, to reduce the impact of fast fashion on our environment. \n*This event is part of the Fringe Feb Festival\, sponsored by Chippenham Borough Lands Charity.
