SUMMARY:Chippenham Parkrun
DESCRIPTION:Parkrun is a free\, community event where you can walk\, jog\, run\, volunteer or spectate. The course is 5k and takes place every Saturday morning in Monkton Park at 9am. Junior parkrun is 2k\, dedicated to 4-14 year olds and their families\, every Sunday morning. \nWalking or running is simple\, free and one of the easiest ways to get more active\, lose weight and become healthier. Sometimes overlooked as a form of exercise\, walking briskly can help you build stamina\, burn excess calories and make your heart healthier. Spending time in nature can reduce anxiety and improve your mood while physical activity is known to reduce your risk of diabetes\, depression\, dementia and cardiovascular diseases. \nWhy not give Parkrun a try – the course goes through Monkton Park and follows the river on a mixture of trail paths\, tarmac paths and gravel paths. Parkrun is positive\, welcoming and inclusive\, there is no time limit and no one finishes last. DESCRIPTION:Come along and hand select some beautiful\, original art work produced by our very talented Life Drawing artists. From £10\, £15 or £20 – all pieces have been kindly donated by our lovely groups. \nWe don’t have any core funding and keep our costs as low as possible so that more people can attend. But that means that much of our work is done for free. We make regular fundraising efforts but aren’t always successful\, so this will help us hugely. You get beautiful\, affordable\, original art. We get help to keep our sessions and productions affordable. Everyone’s a winner!

DESCRIPTION:With Kandu Arts’ 25th Anniversary this year\, they are hosting an evening with footballer Tottenham Spurs legend Steve Perryman MBE; bringing together football fans from all over to help raise money for Kandu Arts. \nSATURDAY 28TH JANUARY 2023 7PM – THE ROTARY HALL\, CHIPPENHAM \nThe evening will start off with a meet and greet with Steve Perryman\, where everyone will be given the opportunity to have professional photographs taken with Steve himself. He will present a talk with details about his journey into football\, his time during his Tottenham reign and events throughout his life during and since his 50 years in football. This is a ticket only event which will include a homemade meal and a drink. Towards the end of the night there will be a Q&A where you will be given the chance to ask Steve Perryman your questions. \nThe night will be raising funds for ‘Kandu Arts’ who are best known for working with the most marginalized individuals and hardest to reach groups including the homeless\, those with mental health difficulties\, refugees\, children in care\, those who are economically\, socially\, and geographically isolated\, of all ages and backgrounds. \nKandu’s methodology is to engage people in exploring solutions to the problems created by our culture and social histories in a holistic way\, with an emphasis on the liberating and empowering experience of the arts\, music\, and sports. \nPlease visit our Facebook Page:\nKandu Arts For Sustainable Development

DESCRIPTION:Welcome to our inaugural Live at the Yelde event – a chance to celebrate local talent in an intimate setting. \nJanuary’s line up consists of two singer songwriters. \nHarmony Asia – I’ve been playing and writing music for as long as I can remember. For me it’s always been a way of expressing how I’m feeling. Music for me is an escape and it’s truly what I enjoy doing. If I could do one thing for the rest of my life then it would be to perform. I take influence from artists such as Lianne La Havas and Joy Crookes. Performing and creating music that people can relate to is all I can ever wish to do\, and I thank every single person who takes time out of their days to watch me live my dream. \nLuke Gittins is a 22 year-old singer songwriter from Chippenham. During the lockdowns\, Luke started posting his music onto YouTube and was shared online by the likes of Elton John\, Alicia Keys\, Ed Sheeran\, Bastille and McFly.
