SUMMARY:Art Bytes Pupil Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:This exhibition features all the artworks of Year 5 and Year 9 pupils entered as part of Art Bytes. This exhibition would not have been possible without the support of\, and volunteers from\, The Arts Society Wessex\, The Arts Society Kington Langley and The Chippenham Museum. \nArt Bytes is a national art and EdTech programme for Year 5 and Year 9 students in all educational settings\, combining an inter-school art competition with a bespoke virtual gallery and in-person Celebration Events in cultural venues across England. \nArt Bytes is based on 12 years’ experience in the North West and is proven to nurture talent\, raise ambition and develop confidence and cultural capital\, as well as support mental health and help develop vital skills for future employment.

SUMMARY:Summer Flowers Watercolour Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join me for a relaxing and creative afternoon of painting beautiful summer flowers in watercolour! 💐 \nSaturday 5th July\, 3-5pm\nGrounded Café\, Chippenham\n£35 per person \nIn this workshop\, you’ll learn the techniques of watercolour painting while capturing the vibrant colours of seasonal blooms. \nI’ll guide you step-by-step in creating your own floral painting\, which you’ll take away with you along with a booklet of tips to help you continue painting should you wish. \nMaterials\, equipment and fresh flowers will be provided. All are welcome\, whether you’re an art enthusiast or have never picked up a paintbrush before! \nYou don’t need to bring anything with you\, though if you have any favourite flowers or something in mind that you’d like to paint\, you’re welcome to bring a picture to use as a reference or your own flowers. \nWe’ll have exclusive use of Grounded’s upper floor and one complimentary drink will be included with your workshop ticket. DESCRIPTION:‘The most fun I have all week – I haven’t laughed so much in ages’ \nAlternate Monday’s at the Cause Arts Centre 7-9pm \nImprovisation Workshops delivered by Laura. \nIf you’re interested but not sure what it is – just come and watch a session and have a cup of tea! \nCome and join a lovely bunch of local budding thespians\, who like to mess about\, play games\, take part in drama exercises and generally have fun while learning how to think on the spot\, make up scenes and not be restricted by the script. \nYou’ll explore scenes\, develop strong characters then improvise the content with some idea of the outcomes – Mike Leigh style. Some of our short form games are like ‘Who’s line is it anyway’ if you’re old enough to remember that! \nIf you have always wanted to try some drama\, but are not sure that you want to commit\, just pop in and do the bits that you want to\, or just come and watch a session. We’d love you to join us – and can guarantee that you’ll meet some brilliant and supportive people along the way. \n\nBasic introduction\, get to know each other\, ground rules for improv and how to let your brain avoid filtering (too much)\nIntroduction to creating characters to use in scenes – emphasis on the physical. Levels of performance style – 1-10\nFurther character development – using the voice to compliment the physical. Tone\, pitch\, accent. Introducing costume for characters.\nHow to respond to offers and add value to a scene. Can we develop a plot using the people that we have found?\nWhat do we need to do to become more believable? What clues can other actors give each other when in an improvised scene?\nFeedback – audience to watch. Teens invited to join us.\n\n£65 for 5 week blocks \nBlock 1 – Monday January 6th and 20th\, Feb 3rd\, March 3rd and 17th \nBlock 2 – Monday April 7th\, May 19th\, June 2nd and 16th July 7th. \n(Thursday evening Improv Slams also running at the Old Road Tavern 7.30 – 9pm £10 – drop in on second Thursday of the month if you can’t commit to blocks and want to do short form only.
