SUMMARY:Chippenham Town Cycle Ride via Rowden Park
DESCRIPTION:Chippenham Town ride via Rowden Park is a FREE cycle ride exploring a route through the town using a combination of quieter back streets and off road connections\, some newly opened. The majority is on quieter streets. \nWe start at Bewley House – the large building between the Railway arches and the Reel cinema\, and end in Monkton Park where we will have FREE refreshments. (You will need to make your own way the short distance from Monkton Park to the start point at Bewley House if you need to). \nThe ride is part of the Big Bike Revival\, and is particularly suitable for adults who are beginners\, improving\, or returning to cycling. Families are welcome to join us. \nThe route explores quieter streets and cycle connections that you may not be familiar with to get around town. \n\nDiscover quieter roads and cycle connections to get around\nExplore part of the new Rowden Park cycle route\nSee the new Station Cycle Hub with a demo of how to use the new cycle racks.\n\nFor Adults wanting to return to cycling or discover safer cycle routes to get across town\nFamilies welcome. Under 18s require a responsible adult. \nApproximately two hours\, partly on quieter roads and partly on shared cycle paths \nPoints of interest:- \nReel Cinema\nIvy Lane School\nnew Rowden Park Cycle route.\nRoute to town centre with improvements planned\nNew Cycle Hub at Chippenham Station\nMonkton Park FREE refreshments \nThe ride takes approximately two hours and utilises quieter roads and cycle links featured on the newly updated Chippenham Cycle Map. \nThe ride is guided by Cycle Chippenham volunteers and has been risk assessed. \nChildren under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. \nAs part of the Big Bike Revival grant criteria we will collect as a minimum a name and email address from adults at the ride event. \nOrganised by Cycle Chippenham in partnership with Cycling UK as part of the Big Bike Revival.
