DESCRIPTION:“The best life drawing class I’ve found in years” \nA chance to indulge in practising some essential drawing skills in a beautiful environment\, guided by someone with over 25 years of teaching experience. \nYou’ll use a diverse range of styles and techniques that stretch you and keep you motivated to improve. All while enjoying some fresh coffee and meeting some other lovely local artists. You can work at your own pace and be left alone to draw if this is how you prefer to learn. \nTerms cost £105 for 6 week term (2 hour session) or £20 cash drop-in option for our Life Drawing classes. All materials and coffee/tea are provided. \nLife drawing is challenging and rewarding\, but like anything else\, it takes practice and patience. The best way to encourage practise is to vary the media and techniques available; to make sure this is feasible\, we provide materials for free. This also allows more confidence as using expensive personal materials tends to inhibit experimentation. You are\, of course\, welcome to bring your own materials and follow your own path. \nWeek 3 and 6 are a chance to work from one long pose with any material/technique you choose; the other weeks begin with warm-ups to help you prepare\, normally followed by one or two poses following a theme. Sometimes the session is devoted to a worksheet-style drawing\, using many poses on one sheet in different materials. DESCRIPTION:Cepen Lodge care home\, in Chippenham have invited members of the local community to their monthly dementia café. \nThe first session starting on the 31st May 2024 will be hosted in conjunction with Chippenham Police\, who will be joining to discuss the Herbert Protocol and offer dementia wristbands to the community to support those who may leave their homes and get lost. \nTaking place on the last Friday of every month at 11am\, guests will have a chance to meet other carers supporting others living with dementia. Free to all\, the dementia café at the home provides small respite and social support. \nDuring the care group session\, guests will also have a chance to meet the team at the home\, to discuss any questions they might have about care. \nSenior General Manager Jade said: “We’re really looking forward to making more friends in our local community. The condition itself can be quite lonely and frightening\, and the more support we can provide to each other\, the better. If anyone is unable to make it on the day but would like to pop in for a tour and a cup of tea\, our doors are always open.” \nCepen Lodge care home is run by Barchester Healthcare\, one of the UK’s largest care providers\, which is committed to delivering high-quality care across its care homes and hospitals. Cepen Lodge provides residential care and dementia care for 63 residents from respite care to long term stays. \n
