DESCRIPTION:Calling all performers aged 13 and up! \nOnly 4 weeks to go until our Theatre Company audition workshop… who’s excited? We certainly are!\nWhether you’re a seasoned actor or just starting out\, our workshop is the perfect opportunity to showcase your talent and connect with like-minded locals. \nWe’re looking for focused\, ambitious people to join us and help make up original work on 20 week project ready to perform in front of an audience on Saturday February 15th 2025. Venue TBD. \nDedication is way more important than a huge amount of experience. We’d just like to meet you and find out if you’re up for the challenge. \nWe’re also keen to hear from budding set designers\, costume makers and stage managers. DESCRIPTION:Maud’s Way \nFirst Wednesday of the month\n3 April to 4 September\, 7pm – 9pm\nFree\, spaces limited \nJoin Chippenham Museum’s Creative Writing Group and take part in our new series of 6 linked writing workshops led by local writer and facilitator Ruth Hill. \nInspired by the 550th anniversary of Maud Heath’s Causeway and the Museum’s summer exhibition\, Re-imagining Maud Heath\, discover how Maud and her Causeway has been celebrated by artists\, writers\, and everyday people across the centuries. Explore the stories surrounding Maud Heath and consider how local myths and legends begin and grow over time. \nOver the 6 months\, explore\, discover\, share and create your own local stories and perhaps some of these will develop into longstanding legends which will be told for years to come! \nThese sessions are suitable for beginners to experienced writers and will culminate with performed readings as part of the Maud’s Way Heritage Open Day’s events in September. \nGroup meets on the first Wednesday of the month at Chippenham Museum. \nWorkshops are free but spaces are limited. DESCRIPTION:On 2 September 1942\, Eric Ravilious joined the crew of a military plane that was embarking on a search party for a missing aircraft off the coast of Iceland. Four days after that plane also failed to return\, the RAF declared the crew lost in action. \nEric Ravilious is as compelling and enigmatic as his art. Set against the dramatic wartime locations that inspire him\, Margy Kinmonth’s film brings to life this brilliant but still grossly undervalued British artist. Caught in the crossfire of war 80 years ago\, Ravilious’s legacy largely sank without trace\, until now. Made with the blessing of the Ravilious Estate\, this first full length feature documentary about Ravilious unfolds in his own words\, through previously unseen private correspondence and rare archive film. \nThe film features the voices of Freddie Fox\, Tamsin Greig\, Jeremy Irons & Harriet Walter and asks what his life and art tells us about the elusive concept of Englishness\, and what it means to be a war artist.

DESCRIPTION:Join our artist Charlie to learn to help design new pieces and work collaboratively\, while listening to music and eating biscuits! \nWe work in 10 week blocks\, but you can enrol for 5 at a time. Our team of designers have created work for stage and events and learn to create work to adorn the streets of Chippenham and buildings. \nCharlie has been working in education and visual arts for nearly 30 years and is a working artist and set designer. \nThere’s a new focus each term and we’ll be asking for your input so that the ideas are yours. \nKindly supported by Kington Langley artists and Wiltshire Council’s Area Board\, paying for our materials and helping us keep our sessions affordable and high quality. \n10 week block – £120 \n5 weeks – £65 \nVisit www.ragandbonearts.com to book in.

DESCRIPTION:Calling all artists\, illustrators and doodlers of Chippenham! \nA social evening packed full of creativity. Come along and get involved with a few drawing games\, communal doodle\, work on your sketchbook and collaborate with other artists. All art supplies provided\, but feel free to bring your own. \nA friendly safe space to meet other creatives and dedicate a couple of hours to having fun and getting creative. \nNo pressure\, No judgement\, all levels and abilities welcome. Come and be inspired. Bring your favourite drink\, meet other local artists and start a new creative community with us. \nMonthly meet up. Last weekend of every month.\nFor ages 18+ BYO drinks.
