DESCRIPTION:For our next Collection Conversation\, we will be joined by Ione Parkin and Jonathan Parnham. \nIone Parkin is developing a growing body of artwork inspired by the rich imagery of space and her ongoing dialogue with researchers. Her paintings express her fascination with the formation of the universe while her mixed-media works on paper respond to planetary surfaces\, extremes of temperature and geological process. \nJonathan Parnham is an art educator and artist living in Wiltshire. Painting on location\, to capture the atmosphere of each environment that he discovers\, is a vital component of Jonathan’s. DESCRIPTION:Next up in our series of art talks\, we will be joined by Sasha Wardell and Helen Wilks. \nSasha has over 40 year’s experience in the world of bone china and porcelain\, having studied in two centres of excellence; Stoke on Trent\, United Kingdom and Limoges\, France. She has taken elements of this industry and adapted them to a studio environment. Sasha has concentrated on perfecting the craft-based skills which enhance the inherent qualities of bone china and her carefully produced distinctive work embraces and reflects contemporary taste and lifestyle. \nHelen Wilks was a student at the Bath Academy of Art\, Corsham. She is a narrative painter\, probably best known for three cycles of works: Childhood Fragments\, Punch & Judy and The Inhabited Space. Additionally\, she has made very many works based on theatre performance and collaborations. DESCRIPTION:In November’s Collection Conversation\, we will be joined by Chris Dunn and Andrew Lansley. \nAfter studying at Bath Spa University\, Chris Dunn worked as a freelance illustrator producing portraits and conceptual illustrations. A commission to illustrate the Wind in the Willow\, has led to him beginning a full-time artist specialising in traditional children’s book watercolour illustration. He now works from Calne where the surrounding countryside is a constant source of inspiration \nAndrew Lansley produces work from many different but direct sources. This may entail a variety of material abstractions or work directly related to impressions and experience of the landscape. In using raw pigments combined with a variety of mediums he achieves a direct connection to the elemental quality of landscape. DESCRIPTION:Chippenham Art Group meets monthly on Wednesdays in St Paul’s Church Hall\, Greenway Lane\, Chippenham. It’s led by artist Fran Young and organised by our experienced community services coordinator Pam Ollis. \nProjects ranging from painting and drawing to collage\, printing\, crafts\, clay modelling and more. We work at a leisurely pace with plenty of time for conversation and connection. No previous experience of art is necessary and everyone works at their own pace. People can also work on their own projects and develop their own ideas. \nFamily carers are welcome at the group as full members and encouraged to join in to create their own pieces of art. \nIf you’d like to come along as a group member\, or for more information\, please call Pam on 01380 739055\, or to register your interest please use the form below. \nThis group is kindly part-funded by Chippenham Borough Lands Charity. DESCRIPTION:Fresh from his Camp Wildfire shows\, Paul is bringing his grown up science show TO BOLDLY GO\, to Pound Arts in Corsham. \nThis show will bring you the science behind the sci-fi; the truth of TV trickery and a good old grown up giggle. \nBest of all this is all to raise funds for the fantastic Pound Arts Centre\, so get yourself a ticket\, to support inclusive arts\, learn a bit of science-fact and have a laugh at alien probing!
