DESCRIPTION:Come and join us on Sunday 19th December\, share a glass of wine\, maybe make a bid and help raise funds for The Campaign against Urban Sprawl to the South of Chippenham. The Save Chippenham Art Auction has more than 100 fantastic lots –  from textiles\, art\, photographs\, yarn art\, jewellery\, ceramics\, prints and paintings in a range of media. Purchase Beautiful Gifts for Christmas whilst Saving our Countryside.  \n\nThe auction will include a wide range of artworks all of which have been kindly donated by local artists. All proceeds will go to saving Chippenham from excessive development on green fields and thereby help to save the planet. \n\n\nWhen? \n\n\nThe auction event will be held from 11.30am – 6pm\nViewing begins at 11.30am\nPlease join us for a festive glass of wine and nibbles between 11.30 – 3pm during the viewing. Non-alcoholic drinks will also be available.There will be the opportunity to make a £2 donation upon arrival.\nWelcome and Opening Words at 3.15pm\nThe auction begins at 3.30pm\nClosing Address and Words of Thanks at 4.30pm (approximately)\n\n\n\nCatalogue \n\n\n\nThe catalogue will be available online from 10th December. DESCRIPTION:This half term join Chippenham Museum’s Photoclub for some free photo fun. \nExhibition ‘Our Photo Journey’ \nThe club’s autumn photographic exhibition and first display together as a group. \nMuseum Trail \nTake part in the club’s photographic challenge to see if you can find their favorite objects around the museum. \nFree Photography Workshops \nWednesday 27 October\, ages 11 – 17\, booking essential. Two sessions giving tips and techniques for taking great photos on whatever camera you have\, including a mobile phone\, with Photoclub leader Kez. \nAround the Museum: 10.30am – 12pm book here \nTake part in a photography challenge hunting around the museum for the best objects to photograph. \n \nMuseum Objects: 1.30pm – 3.30pm book here \nJoin us as we handle and photograph a collection of museum objects. Learn about their history and how to photograph the object in a professional setting. \n \n\nThe museum’s afterschool Photoclub for ages 11 – 17 meets on Wednesdays in term-time 4.30 – 5.30\, £6 per session. The club aims to improve self-expression and motivation\, focusing on activities to help mental health and wellbeing while capturing great images and having fun. DESCRIPTION:North-West Wiltshire’s Peacock Arts Trail flies again\, from 11-19 September\, and over 70 fabulous artists and craftspeople from Corsham\, Chippenham and Melksham are taking part. \n \nThe free-to-visit event will see artists welcoming people into their studios\, organising ‘real life’ workshops or (new for 2021) posting live virtual demos on the Peacock Arts Trail website. \nThere are also group events at venues including Corsham’s Almshouses and Pound Arts Centre; Chippenham’s Yelde Hall and King Alfred’s Hall\, and Melksham’s Town Hall\, amongst others. SUMMARY:Loose Threads: The Don Little Collection X Bath Textile Artists
DESCRIPTION:Now available to visit online! A celebration of the heritage of Chippenham and the surrounding area\, Loose Threads is a collaborative exhibition between Chippenham Museum and Bath Textile Artists. \nThe exhibition centres on the Don Little Collection. Donald Little lived in Chippenham his entire life and bequeathed to Chippenham Museum his vast collection of postcards\, photographs and ephemera relating to the town. Alongside the collection will be works especially created by the Bath Textile Artists in response to different parts of the collection as diverse as Goss crested china\, World War One postcards and Don’s personal family photographs. View the exhibition on Chippenham Museum’s website here. \nChippenham Museum has launched two online talks and a February half term activity linked to the exhibition – all free to enjoy from home until the museum can re-open again. \nChippenham Museum is a Chippenham Town Council facility. When back open\, the museum is free entry with two floors of galleries and level access throughout. Let your imagination run wild – silly hats\, wacky animals… anything fun to help brighten these dull days. \nPlease visit our Facebook Page – Crazy Crochet & Nutty Knitting – you can post your creation there and finalists will be invited to drop off their work or post it to us by Sunday 7th March. \nThis competition is part of Fringe February. Winners chosen by public vote. Entries will be displayed in a Chippenham shop window as soon as lockdown is lifted.
