DESCRIPTION:‘Every course a revelation’ \nUniquely designed and delivered 6 x 6 week courses for beginners. Taught by local artist and designer Charlie who has over 25 years experience teaching art. Tuesdays at 9.30am – 11.30am \nTerm 1 – Still life (drawing) – Sept 17th – October 22nd \nIn these sessions\, we will follow the classic method for learning to draw and paint. It is easy to learn to draw by copying the example of a tutor leading the group\, but this tends to produce a ‘house style’ where everyone ends up drawing in the same way.\nYour drawing style is as unique to you as your handwriting (if school hasn’t obliterated it) – here you will learn to enhance your own drawing style\, not replace it with mine. \nPlease note: all courses begin with drawing\, and include a talk about relevant art movements and practitioners.\nThe £99 price includes all materials and coffee and biscuits (donations taken to help with refreshments)\nYour place will be confirmed on receipt of payment and the booking via the website. \nThank you – we look forward to meeting you soon

You’ll use a diverse range of styles and techniques that stretch you and keep you motivated to improve. \nAll while enjoying fresh coffee and meeting some other lovely local artists. You can work at your own pace and be left alone to draw if this is how you prefer to learn. \nTuesdays 7pm-9pm (Also on Wednesdays 9:30am-11:30am) \nLife Drawing is challenging and rewarding\, but like drawing anything else\, it takes practice and patience. \nThe best way to encourage practice is to vary the media and techniques available; to make sure this is feasible\, we provide materials for free. This also allows more confidence as using expensive personal materials tends to inhibit experimentation. \nYou are\, of course\, welcome to bring your own materials and follow your own path. \nWeeks 3 and 6 are a chance to work from one long pose with any material/technique you choose; the other weeks begin with warm-ups to help you prepare\, normally followed by one or two poses following a theme. \nSometimes the session is devoted to a worksheet-style drawing\, using many poses on one sheet in different materials. DESCRIPTION:In extracts from Shakespeare’s Henry IV\, Shakespeare Live’s team of actors take multiple roles to tell the story of the tortuous relationship between Prince Hal\, the future Henry V\, and the dissolute knight Sir John Falstaff. Shakespeare mingles comedy\, drama and pathos in the tale of the young prince coming of age and finding his destiny\, while the boastful\, blustering Falstaff follows haplessly in his wake. The scene moves from the seedy streets and taverns of London\, across highways and battlefields\, to reach the final denouement at the court of the newly-crowned King Henry V. \nThis long-established and well-regarded Shakespeare theatre company produces annual productions in the grounds of Cleeve House\, Seend\, Wiltshire\, SN12 6PG. \nShakespeare Live has been running  for over 30 years and is a group of talented and skilled actors and technicians who give their time and energy for free.
