DESCRIPTION: Great opportunity for neurodiverse young people \n A set of cassettes tapes from the 1980s which haven’t been accessible for many years have just been digitised as part of the Sounds of the South West project. \n Be the first to find out the content in these oral histories\, become skilled in the technical aspects of working with audio material\, get creative using the contents as a starting point\, with the chance to be mentored by experienced practitioners who will support you every step of the way. \n You’ll be able to create something special to share with others\, learn new skills\, have fun\, and maybe make some new friends. Come and enjoy spending time in a calm\, accepting and welcoming environment. \nJoin the sessions in person or online if you’d prefer. \nThe project will run every Thursday from 10.15am-3pm from 20th March to 22nd May. Their pop-up display launches Saturday 17 May\, and we can’t wait for you to see how they’ve celebrated the humble t-shirt! 🧵✨ \nTo mark the occasion\, join us this May Half Term for our free creative activities inspired by the project. Check out their pop-up t-shirt display and learn all about this everyday item. Then get crafty and design your own t-shirt bunting. 👕🎨 \nFor children who may find busy sessions overwhelming\, we’re also offering Autism Friendly Quiet Time sessions. This will be a calmer\, more relaxed way to enjoy the same activities\, with limited numbers and booking required. \n📅 Tuesday 27 May & Thursday 29 May\n🕘 9.00am – 10.00am (last entry 9.45am)\n🎟️ Free\, booking essential\nPlease note\, activities on both days are the same\, so we recommend booking for one day only.
