DESCRIPTION:With Kandu Arts’ 25th Anniversary this year\, they are hosting an evening with footballer Tottenham Spurs legend Steve Perryman MBE; bringing together football fans from all over to help raise money for Kandu Arts. \nSATURDAY 28TH JANUARY 2023 7PM – THE ROTARY HALL\, CHIPPENHAM \nThe evening will start off with a meet and greet with Steve Perryman\, where everyone will be given the opportunity to have professional photographs taken with Steve himself. He will present a talk with details about his journey into football\, his time during his Tottenham reign and events throughout his life during and since his 50 years in football. This is a ticket only event which will include a homemade meal and a drink. Towards the end of the night there will be a Q&A where you will be given the chance to ask Steve Perryman your questions. \nThe night will be raising funds for ‘Kandu Arts’ who are best known for working with the most marginalized individuals and hardest to reach groups including the homeless\, those with mental health difficulties\, refugees\, children in care\, those who are economically\, socially\, and geographically isolated\, of all ages and backgrounds. \nKandu’s methodology is to engage people in exploring solutions to the problems created by our culture and social histories in a holistic way\, with an emphasis on the liberating and empowering experience of the arts\, music\, and sports. \nPlease visit our Facebook Page:\nKandu Arts For Sustainable Development

DESCRIPTION:This is the Rotary Club’s 7th Annual Calne Classic Car Run. \nBetween 8am and 9.30am on Sunday the 21st of May one hundred Classic Cars will meet and drive off from Calne Leisure Centre Car park. Calne Lions will provide breakfast butties as drivers set off. Drivers will enjoy a fascinating 70 mile route through the beautiful Wiltshire countryside and over Salisbury Plain to Southern Quarter of Amesbury\, finishing at the amazing Five Zero’s Supercar Barn at Holt. \nFurther support on the day will be provided by Rotarians and a great team of volunteers\, the event will be a true community effort.\nThe car run features VIP Teddy Bears and much loved dogs in some of the cars. The proceeds will go to Julia’s House these are Wiltshire & Dorset Children’s Hospices\, also other Rotary Charities. \nWe would like to thank everyone involved and wish them a safe journey. DESCRIPTION:Sign up to Doorways Supermarket Sweep cycling fundraising event – taking place on Sunday 24th September\, there are a few routes for all abilities\, including a gentle family friendly route starting in John Coles Park cycling to Morrisons\, and routes of 25 miles and 45 miles for those wanting to get the miles in and challenge themselves\, why not get your family\, friends and work colleagues to sponsor you!? \nAll the routes incorporate stops at Supermarkets where you can buy some items off our shopping list to restock our food bank and then cycle to the finish point at Cousin Norman’s to continue the fundraising with a delicious BBQ (included in the ticket price) and a fantastic silent auction to help raise even more for Doorway. \nIf this is sounding like it could be fun and you want to take part but its missing a little something…….here is what the final little surprise might be….you don’t have to worry if you don’t have any lycra cycling shorts…we encourage you to dress up\, wear something fun\, bright and colourful and you could win a prize for the best dressed. \nIt’s going to be a fun day for all with plenty of entertainment after the hard work of cycling and raising money for Doorway.

DESCRIPTION:The Royal Marines Charity are on a mission to raise £1.5 million by the end of 2023 to support Royal Marines and their families through life. \nTo help them achieve this local artist\, Rae Melody\, is running a ‘Cakes for Commandos’ fundraiser. Love Stories\, by Mark Rutterford\, promises a Valentine’s Day event like no other and one you’ll never forget. As the audience eats Love Heart sweets\, they will hear tales of love affairs and heartache but like any romantic encounter\, Love Stories is not a passive experience. \nAudience engagement is a big part of the show. It’s the audience that decides who wins the World Cup of Love Songs\, what happens in one story and\, having heard Mark’s best and worst romantic moments\, they’ll be invited to share their own triumphs and disasters. Laughs and empathy are guaranteed. \nThis interactive theatre piece is that latest offering from Kandu Arts\, a Chippenham based company that has been using the arts and activities to explore a wide range of issues and nurture strong relationships within the community for 25 years. \nAn alien reports that he just ‘doesn’t get it\,’ but the 4-Star Review from last year’s Bath Fringe Festival says that you will feel the connection and that you might be beguiled into leaving your cynic at the door. \n“the connection…is what makes the night – during our short time together we become friends hanging out” \nBackground \nMark Rutterford is a writer-performer that has been performing stories across the South West for a decade. Love Stories is Mark’s first solo show – it made its debut at Bath Fringe Festival in May 2023 (4-Stars) and went on to Shaftesbury Fringe in July and Camden Fringe in August last year. The mix of performance\, props\, emotions and audience engagement are key features in the inclusive\, funny and entertaining show Mark wanted to create. He is delighted to be working with Kandu Arts and to be performing in Chippenham for the first time – he hopes to do more of both in future. \nKandu Arts for sustainable development is based in Chippenham\, Wiltshire\, and has worked since 1998 with communities\, often the most marginalized and hardest to reach up and down the country. They use music\, film\, visual arts & sport as a means to explore a wide range of issues. Combined with nurturing strong relationships\, this approach is highly effective in areas of engaging the disaffected\, increasing community cohesion and development.

DESCRIPTION:Chippenham Flower Club is honoured to host Michael Bowyer\, MBE as he performs his floral demonstration ‘Twixt Spring and Summer’. \nMichael is a NAFAS demonstrator\, judge and president of the South West Area of NAFAS. He is known as the David Beckham of Flower Arranging\, admired and respected for his floral art. He supervises the arrangements at Salisbury Cathedral and was in charge of two pedestal at Westminster Abbey for the funeral of our late Queen. \nMichael is joining us on 13th May at Sheldon School Hall. This promises to be an enjoyable evening\, apart from Michael’s demonstration we have our popular Plant Stall\, Bring and Buy stall and our Sales Stall\, as well as refreshments. As always there is a raffle where for £1.00 a strip of tickets you could win one of Michael’s displays. \nMembers are free\nVisitors – £6.00\nAccompanied children are welcome.\nDoors open at 6.45pm
