SUMMARY:John Cole’s Park Centenary Celebrations
DESCRIPTION:A “Roaring 20s” themed event will take place in John Coles Park with lots of fun and free activities for all the family to enjoy. You are encouraged to dress in the attire of this time period if you would like to. \nSome of the attractions will include: \n\nTraditional carousel and swing boats\nChloe’s Mobile Farm\nClare’s Circus activities\n1920’s props for dressing up selfies\nAtwell Wilson will be bringing a 1920’s car of the day\nBritish Martial Arts demonstrations and opportunity to try out\nTown Mayor’s Tombola\nParticipate in some sporting activities\nChippenham Museum will bring oral history recording equipment along to record memories of the park to connect with the photographic project.\n\nThe programme for the day includes: \n\nChippenham Hospital Radio various slots between 10am to 5pm\nIvan Andre Trumpet Player 11am to 1pm\nAllsorts Choir 1.30pm to 2pm\nTrip for Biscuits Band 2pm to 2.30pm\nDance Academy 2.30pm to 2.45pm\nTrip for Biscuits Band 2.45pm to 3.15pm\nTime Capsule Event in the Sensory Garden 3.15pm – 3.30pm\nTrip for Biscuits Band 3.30pm to 4pm\n\nThe kiosk and an additional unit will be open for refreshments\, and there will be a food court with offers from The Rolling Stoves\, The Pasty Cove and Ranch Pizzas.  Please feel free to bring your picnics\, blankets and chairs to be able to sit and enjoy the entertainment. \nPlease note: For this event\, the car park in John Coles Park will be reserved for blue badge holders.  If you are able\, please use public transport or walk to the park. SUMMARY:Chippenham Film Club's August feature Portrait of a Lady on Fire
DESCRIPTION:At the end of the 18th century\, on an isolated island in Brittany\, a female painter is obliged to paint a wedding portrait of a young woman. \nStarring Noémie Merlant and Adèle Haenel\, the film is a beautiful\, almost timeless study of power and passion in which observed becomes observer. \nSelected for the Palme d’Or at Cannes in 2019\, it won the Queer Palm\, becoming the first film directed by a woman to win the award\, Celine Sciamma also won the award for best screenplay at Cannes. \nPortrait of a Lady on Fire was voted the 30th greatest film of all time in the Sight & Sound 2022 critics’ poll. \nAll Chippenham Film Club events are open to members and non-members.

DESCRIPTION:KANDU ARTS HOSTS ITS 3RD ANNUAL UNLOCK RESET FESTIVAL \nThis August bank holiday weekend Kandu Arts will be hosting their third annual Unlock Reset Festival in association with the Pitch and Putt Golf Course to help raise funds and awareness for kandu Arts Community Projects & Events. \nAn exciting two-day festival full of live music and poetry with performances on Satuday 26th from; Mosaic Dogs\, Oli Hounsel\, Ed Deedigan & The Kandu Collective featuring Guillem Mitchel\, Jonah Jones\, Silvia Johns & Konsuela Yovbak\, Tommy Deedigan\, Mike Morrisey’s Free Spirits\, Quiet!\, John Savage and The Kandu Community Choir featuring James Levan. And on Sunday 27th August including; Oli Hounsel\, Will Lawton\, Guillem Mitchel\, Milly Hayward\, Jonah Jones\, Donna Lee\, and Maja Boskovic & our Croatian Visitors. \n26th and 27th August 2023 from 5pm-10pm at the Pitch and Putt Golf Course in Monkton Park\, Chippenham \nTickets available to buy on Eventbrite \nDelicious food and drinks will be available to purchase at The Pitch and Putt Golf Course \nThere will be a kids play zone and bouncy castle! \nUnder 16s go free \nOAP\, NHS\, Teachers pay what you can \nTickets also available on the gate at £8 \nKandu Arts have been working with families\, young people and the community\, often the most marginalized and hardest to reach since 1998. DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to welcome Strungout to this summer’s event for over 60s. \nStrungout are a ukelele band who love the music of the 50s\, 60s and 70s.
