DESCRIPTION:Training for representatives of community organisations that support local people who are struggling with bills or need extra support. \nThe training is a ‘train the trainer’ style session so that delegates can confidently share the advice to other staff and volunteers within their own organisations and support their service users. \nThe Wessex Water Tailored Assistance programme comprises a wide range of affordability support to help customers who are struggling to pay their bills including flexible payment plans\, payment breaks\, payments direct from benefits\, low income discounts and bill caps. We are doubling the number of people we can support. DESCRIPTION:The Royal Marines Charity are on a mission to raise £1.5 million by the end of 2023 to support Royal Marines and their families through life. \nTo help them achieve this local artist\, Rae Melody\, is running a ‘Cakes for Commandos’ fundraiser. The aim of the cake sale is to highlight what the Royal Marines Charity do\, bring people from the local community together\, to enable those connected to the military to meet and share stories and to enjoy lots of cake! \nRae will also be unveiling a large scale piece of art that she is creating which will be auctioned off (at a later date) to raise money for the charity. \nPlease join Rae in raising a bit of cash\, having a cuppa and some cake and in celebrating 359 years of the Corps from 11am to 2pm on Saturday 28th October at Platinum House\, 35 Market Place\, Chippenham\, SN15 3HT (next to St Andrew’s Church).

SUMMARY:Making Spaces: Creative Project
DESCRIPTION:Chippenham Museum is launching a new project to work with Ukrainian families\, alongside a local artist\, to produce a new artwork exploring Chippenham and the surrounding area as a place of refuge. \nThe project is inspired by the work of Belgian artist Charles Wellens and Polish artist Piotr Potworowski\, who each fled conflicts in the 20th century and made their home in the area. Work by both artists is currently on display in the museum. \nThese sessions are free and family friendly\, but booking is required. \nIf you would like to take part or want to find out more please contact the museum on 01249 705020 or by emailing heritage@chippenham.gov.uk. We are also hosting an Open Evening for Ukrainian families and their hosts on Thursday 19 October\, where you can find out more about the museum and our Making Spaces project.
