DESCRIPTION:This is the twelfth year we have held this event and it grows in size and popularity every year. We will have a large variety of attractions for all the family to enjoy and we expect to have in excess of 250 cherished cars attending as well as a performance Arena\, Fairground\, Local Foods\, Craft\, Charity and Trade Stands. \nOur main charity this year is Dorothy House Hospialong with other Lions Charities – local\, national and international – but mostly local. \nThe site is in the Chippenham countryside with the Avon close by\, a couple of miles north of Chippenham and about three miles south of the M4 J17. DESCRIPTION:Seven-mile charity walk for Alzheimer’s Support and a great day out for the whole family! \nPull on your walking boots and take part in A Walk to Remember on Saturday 8th June. \nIt’s a circular seven-miles through some of North Wiltshire’s loveliest countryside starting and finishing at Bowood Estate at the kind permission of the charity’s patron Lady Lansdowne. \nThe day starts with bacon or veggie butties then\, after a fun group warm-up\, we head out into the beautiful north Wiltshire countryside. Everyone walks at their own pace. You can walk with others\, stride ahead or do your own thing. There are plenty of great views and scenic places to stop for a picnic along the way. And marshals will be on hand to make sure you find your way. \nBack at the estate\, our post-walk celebrations include medals for all the finishers\, commemorative photos\, plenty of tea and cake and chance to relax with other walkers. \nPlease sign up and join us in June – you’ll have a great day out and be walking for dementia with every step.

Four days after that plane also failed to return\, the RAF declared the crew lost in action. \nEric Ravilious is as compelling and enigmatic as his art. Set against the dramatic wartime locations that inspire him\, Margy Kinmonth’s film brings to life this brilliant but still grossly undervalued British artist. Caught in the crossfire of war 80 years ago\, Ravilious’s legacy largely sank without trace\, until now. Made with the blessing of the Ravilious Estate\, this first full length feature documentary about Ravilious unfolds in his own words\, through previously unseen private correspondence and rare archive film. \nThe film features the voices of Freddie Fox\, Tamsin Greig\, Jeremy Irons & Harriet Walter and asks what his life and art tells us about the elusive concept of Englishness\, and what it means to be a war artist.

Alzheimer’s Support Memory Cafe meets at Sheldon Road Methodist Church from 10.30am -12pm every other Thursday morning. \nThe cafe offers people living with dementia and their families the chance to relax and enjoy a social activity with others\, sample some of our delicious cakes\, and chat with dementia professionals who are on hand to offer information and informal support. \nAs well as the general café\, there is also a quieter area where couples can sit and enjoy the refreshments and entertainment. \nIf this is your first time then please call us on 01380 739055 or fill in the form below.
