DESCRIPTION:Sparkly Singers is the award-winning Wiltshire-based choir experience\, founded with the simple aim of bringing the joy and benefits of group singing to everyone\, regardless of age\, experience or ability. \nLaunched in September 2023\, our ‘lighter’ daytime sessions are perfect for anyone who just fancies popping out for an hour or so each week to meet new people and sing a fabulous selection of feel-good songs. SUMMARY:Chippenham Film Club April feature
DESCRIPTION:Set during the 1992–1993 War in Abkhazia\, Tangerines is a 2013 Estonian-Georgian film written\, produced\, and directed by Zaza Urushadze. \nSet in a rural village in a Russian-backed separatist region in the newly independent Georgia\, Ivo and his friend Margus are the only two\, of their once large community\, who have not fled the war\, so they can harvest the lucrative tangerine crop. \nTragically\, despite their best efforts to avoid the surrounding conflict\, the war quickly finds Ivo and Margus. \nTangerines is a brilliant exploration of conflict and war\, reconciliation\, and pacifism\, and was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film award at the 87th Academy Awards and the 72nd Golden Globe Awards.

DESCRIPTION: Great opportunity for neurodiverse young people \n A set of cassettes tapes from the 1980s which haven’t been accessible for many years have just been digitised as part of the Sounds of the South West project. \n Be the first to find out the content in these oral histories\, become skilled in the technical aspects of working with audio material\, get creative using the contents as a starting point\, with the chance to be mentored by experienced practitioners who will support you every step of the way. \n You’ll be able to create something special to share with others\, learn new skills\, have fun\, and maybe make some new friends. Come and enjoy spending time in a calm\, accepting and welcoming environment. \nJoin the sessions in person or online if you’d prefer. \nThe project will run every Thursday from 10.15am-3pm from 20th March to 22nd May.
