SUMMARY:Chippenham Film Club's January feature
DESCRIPTION:Aftersun is a 2022 coming of age drama written and directed by Charlotte Wells in her feature directorial debut. Starring Paul Mescal (Normal People\, God’s Creatures)\, Frankie Corio and Celia Rowlson-Hall\, the film follows an 11-year-old girl Sophie\, on holiday with her father at a Turkish resort on the eve of his 31st birthday. \nThe film tells the story through a series of memories and personal recollections\, filtered through a haze of memory and imagination by the now-adult Sophie (Celia Rowlson-Hall) looking back on things she didn’t really understand at the time. Aftersun had its world premiere at Cannes on 21 May 2022\, where Wells was nominated for the Golden Camera\, Scottish-born\, New York-based writer-director Wells picked up a whopping 16 nominations at the British Independent Film Awards.

DESCRIPTION:Dogman is the story of Marcello (played by Marcello Fonte)\, a timid dog groomer who moonlights as a drug dealer\, and his encounters with Simoncino\, a violent gangster. When Simocino frames Marcello in a crime\, Marcello begins to plot his revenge. \nDogman enjoyed some 40 nominations and 32 industry awards\, most notably Marcello Fonte\, who won the Palme d’ Or for best actor\, the canine cast also picked up the Palm Dog\, I’m not joking\, they really did. \nThe film will be shown at The Reel on Monday 12th September\, tickets are available through the Chippenham Film Club’s website.\n.

DESCRIPTION:‘It gently stretches our abilities\, while making it fun’ \n3 x 6 week Acting projects delivered online to the comfort of your home. \nCovid gave our improvisation group a chance to try out lots of techniques for radio and script acting and we liked it. DESCRIPTION:Somewhere in Britain\, a long time ago\, a very\, very\, very long time ago. So long ago that nobody quite knows whether it happened or not. Or where it happened or not. \nA boy pulled a sword from a stone and became King. A story of the old world\, with knights\, wizards\, mist and magic. \nThis fun and farcical adventure is a deliberately anarchic and anachronistic re-telling of the Arthurian Legend with live music\, physical comedy and lo-fi acrobatics.
