Every year we add something bigger and better\, with more re-enactment groups and exciting performances. \nThis year\, get ready to celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day in style\, featuring:1940s costume and decoration \n\nRe-enactors and living history groups telling the stories of those who lived\, served and fought in WW2\nWW2-era vehicles from the Museum’s Reserve Vehicle Collection\, private collectors and enthusiasts around the country\n‘Live’ demonstrations of WW2 equipment\, including firearms\, munitions and more (subject to groups attending and availability of equipment) – see the slideshow below for examples of previous years’ demonstrations\n1940s Swing and Big Band dance performances\nMusical performances with wartime era music\, creating a VE Day party atmosphere on our grounds!\nFull details including details of performers and re-enactors will be available on our website. Please check there for any changes.\nRefreshments will be available to purchase from Crown’s Café\, which will only be open to visitors with a ticket to the event.\nFree parking will be available in our large car park\, Blue Badge spaces must still on a first-come-first-served basis. Join us as scarecrows transform into powerful superheroes\, cunning villains\, and everything in between. \nMonkton Park’s 15th annual Scarecrow Trail is taking place on the 17th and 18th of May. This hugely popular event sees people from all over Chippenham and beyond descending on the Monkton Park Estate. With over 40 scarecrows\, it is one of the biggest trails in the area. \nTrail sheets are available from Monkton Park School\, The Tenth Hole Tea Room and Londis from 10am to 5pm on both days. \nOn Saturday 17th May there’s an also a BBQ\, bar and family fun day happening at Monkton Park School as part of the annual scarecrow trail – and on Sunday 18th May refreshments also available. \n  \n\n\n

Join us as scarecrows transform into powerful superheroes\, cunning villains\, and everything in between. \nMonkton Park’s 15th annual Scarecrow Trail is taking place on the 17th and 18th of May. This hugely popular event sees people from all over Chippenham and beyond descending on the Monkton Park Estate. With over 40 scarecrows\, it is one of the biggest trails in the area. \nTrail sheets are available from Monkton Park School\, The Tenth Hole Tea Room and Londis from 10am to 5pm on both days. \nOn Saturday 17th May there’s an also a BBQ\, bar and family fun day happening at Monkton Park School as part of the annual scarecrow trail – and on Sunday 18th May refreshments also available. \n  \n\n\n

Our taster sessions are the perfect introduction – whether you’re after a one-off adventure or curious about taking it further. \nClimbing is a social\, active and creative sport that’s surprisingly easy to get into – making it a fantastic way to stay fit. These ‘have-a-go’ sessions let you try bouldering\, roped climbing and auto belays. \nBy the end of the session\, you’ll be ready to visit the centre as a boulderer and auto belay user. (Children will still need supervision).
