This hugely popular event sees people from all over Chippenham and beyond descending on the Monkton Park Estate. With over 40 scarecrows\, it is one of the biggest trails in the area. \nTrail sheets are available from Monkton Park School\, The Tenth Hole Tea Room and Londis from 10am to 5pm on both days. \nOn Saturday 17th May there’s an also a BBQ\, bar and family fun day happening at Monkton Park School as part of the annual scarecrow trail – and on Sunday 18th May refreshments also available. \n  \n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:Join us for a more relaxed visit at the REME Museum during this special opening outside of our regular hours. \nWe have designed these ‘Lights Up\, Sounds Down’ days to reduce sensory input for individuals who would prefer a quieter experience. These sessions are primarily for\, though not limited to\, anyone who has sensory processing disorder; autism; social\, emotional or mental health needs; dementia\, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or any other sensory needs. \nDuring these days we will have: \nLights On – our overhead gallery lighting will be turned on\, without spotlights\, to create a brighter environment in which to explore.\nSounds Down – we will reduce sound effects throughout the museum as much as possible by turning off most ‘surround sound’ interactives and reducing volumes.\nSensory maps – we have marked out any areas around the museum where you may find louder interactives or visual effects that we cannot turn off. This means you can choose your own route and avoid any areas as you wish. \nIf you would like to bring any sensory items (including but not limited to ear defenders\, magnifying glass\, book\, squeezy toy) that will help you or your loved one to enjoy their experience better\, please feel free to do so\, just make sure you hold onto it and take it home with you! \nFurther Information \n\nPre-booking is essential for these visits\, please use our online booking system.\nUsual entry fees apply. Included in your annual pass.\nAny visitors who wish to join us for the full museum experience\, including normal sound effects and visuals\, should avoid visiting during these special openings. DESCRIPTION:We’re excited this Summer to be able to offer young people the opportunity to achieve their Arts Award while exploring the art we have on display around the museum. \nThese sessions are led by our Education Officer and Education Assistant and must be pre-booked due to limited space. \nArts Award sessions cost £5 per family group\, which covers the cost of the certificate you will receive and the materials used throughout the session. Simply book your admission tickets on a workshop date\, then add the workshop ticket onto your booking.

Under 10s must be accompanied by an adult. Please note\, activities on Tuesdays and Thursdays will be the same each week. \nWeek 3: Shapes and Colour Palettes \nExplore the expression of power and meaning in colour and pattern\, then blend ideas to create our own pattern colour wheel.
