DESCRIPTION:Only rain down the drain! \nDid you know that surface road drains lead directly into your local watercourse? This means that anything other than rain poured down the drain\, such as litter\, car oils\, detergents\, weed killers or wastewater can harm river health and its wildlife! \nBristol Avon River Trust (BART) are running an exciting Yellow Fish Campaign in the local area to help raise awareness of the impacts of human activity on water quality in the Bristol Avon. We are hosting a series of Yellowfish events with the local community\, which involves putting up posters to spread the message and painting yellow fish next to surface drains to remind the public that what enters the drain\, flows directly into the nearby river or stream. \nVolunteers will use stencils and chalk-based yellow spray paint to mark a yellow fish shape (a great family friendly activity!) \nBristol Avon Rivers Trust: is a charity which delivers education\, land and river management advice and practical river restoration work throughout the Bristol Avon catchment. BART is working in partnership with Wessex Water through the Community Connectors project (https://www.wessexwater.co.uk/visit-and-learn/community-connectors). DESCRIPTION:Returning to school after the summer holidays can be a daunting prospect for many.\nIt can cause stress\, anxiety and unease. \nPerhaps your child is moving up to a secondary school.\nPerhaps they are moving to a different school.\nPerhaps your child is sensitive to change and finds it difficult to deal with.\nPerhaps their experience of being at school is not always enjoyable.\nPerhaps they just need a space in which they can re-charge and re-set their mind for the new school year. \nI understand how stressful and demanding the transition can be both for children and parents. \nThis summer I’d like to help you make the experience a bit easier\, smoother and less stressful. \nThat’s why we’ve decided to hold a mindfulness and meditation workshop. \nWhat would it be like to spend 2 hours in a space in which your child can totally relax\, escape their worries\, be free of anxiety and stress ? \nWhat would it be like for you and your child to spend 2 hours exploring your ability to find peace through fun mindful activities and games\, through listening to soothing sounds and a guided visualisation? \nWhat would it be like to learn techniques which can help you and your children ease their anxiety helping them manage their return to school better? \nWhat would it feel like to be with your child\, be truly present with them and create genuine connection for you so that you can support them during the transition back to school and beyond? \nOur mindfulness and meditation workshop for parents and children offers just that. \nI’m Katerina\, founder of MindCraft\, and at the very end of the summer holidays I bring you a unique workshop for children and their parents.
