DESCRIPTION:Returning to school after the summer holidays can be a daunting prospect for many.\nIt can cause stress\, anxiety and unease. \nPerhaps your child is moving up to a secondary school.\nPerhaps they are moving to a different school.\nPerhaps your child is sensitive to change and finds it difficult to deal with.\nPerhaps their experience of being at school is not always enjoyable.\nPerhaps they just need a space in which they can re-charge and re-set their mind for the new school year. \nI understand how stressful and demanding the transition can be both for children and parents. \nThis summer I’d like to help you make the experience a bit easier\, smoother and less stressful. \nThat’s why we’ve decided to hold a mindfulness and meditation workshop. \nWhat would it be like to spend 2 hours in a space in which your child can totally relax\, escape their worries\, be free of anxiety and stress ? \nWhat would it be like for you and your child to spend 2 hours exploring your ability to find peace through fun mindful activities and games\, through listening to soothing sounds and a guided visualisation? \nWhat would it be like to learn techniques which can help you and your children ease their anxiety helping them manage their return to school better? \nWhat would it feel like to be with your child\, be truly present with them and create genuine connection for you so that you can support them during the transition back to school and beyond? \nOur mindfulness and meditation workshop for parents and children offers just that. \nI’m Katerina\, founder of MindCraft\, and at the very end of the summer holidays I bring you a unique workshop for children and their parents. My workshop is designed to support children\, young teens and their parents who: \n– find the transition back to school after the summer holidays a challenge\n– suffer from anxiety\, stress or overwhelm\nare sensitive to change. New environments and people can cause anxiety and distress\nare curious about mindfulness and meditation\n– would like to learn tools and techniques to ease anxiety and stress\n-look for a safe\, supportive and non-judgemental space\n– need to unwind and relax after a busy summer\n– struggle with self-confidence \nTickets are £10 per child and £20 per adult. Yep – all ages and abilities\, bring the whole family. \nWe can get you started with the basics or expand your repertoire of tricks and a few games might be thrown in as well. \nThis is a ‘have ago’ session with a combination of individual help throughout and short tutorials at specific times. \nJuggling\, plate spinning\, poi\, diabolo\, flower stick\, tight wire\, rolla bola\, stilt walking (bucket\, hold on and sky runner. DESCRIPTION:We’re calling on children\, families\, creatives and anyone who loves Lego to come and help us build a version of Chippenham marketplace as it was in 1886. \nGot a hankering to have a go at making the Yelde Hall? Always fancied trying to recreate the Angel Hotel or wanted to construct the Buttercross? \nBased in the History Centre’s education room with local historian Lucy Whitfield\, we’ve got a huge detailed map to work from\, loads of photographs of the buildings\, and tons of enthusiasm – but we also need you and your building skills to try to create the centre of town as it once was. But\, accuracy isn’t the most important thing\, and we don’t mind if your version of the Old Palace (now Chippenham Museum) is green and blue and has extra turrets – it’s coming and having a go that counts.  \nWe’ll also take all donations of Lego for our attempt\, both in the run up to the event and even on the day – bring them to WSHC reception\, or Chippenham Library.
