DESCRIPTION:Corsham Walking Festival 13th -15th June 2025 \nVisit this historic Wiltshire market town on the fringe of the Cotswolds National Landscape on this our 11th Walking Festival\, that shows the very best that North West Wiltshire has to offer. \nOur popular Walking Festival will have nineteen walks exploring the local and surrounding picturesque towns\, villages\, and countryside. \nWalk themes capture the industrial and rural heritage of the area including Neston Estate\, Hidden Quarries\, Historic Mills of the By Brook\, Ancient Parishes\, and Manor Houses. Plus\, a wildflower and wildlife walk and one ‘All About Trees’. \nLonger routes include the Pretty Village of North West Wiltshire\, Biddestone\, Castle Combe\, Colerne and Box. SUMMARY:Medieval Day: Festival of Archaeology
DESCRIPTION:Saturday 20 July\n10.30am – 3.30pm\nFree\, suitable for all ages \nJoin us as we explore all things Medieval as part of the 550th anniversary celebration of Maud Heath and her Causeway. \nWith the help of some inspiring re-enactors\, we will be recreating a Medieval market in the town’s Market Place. Discover what life was like during the Medieval period with displays of cooking\, clothing\, and arts & crafts of the time. \nEnjoy the popular melodies of the day performed by music duo Pease Pottage and help compose a Maud Heath song in a special workshop with local song writer and performer Louise Jordan. Listen to a specially performed piece by poet and musician Nick Harper telling the story of the legendary Maud\, taking place in the Yelde Hall at 11am\, 12.30pm and 2pm. \nVisit the Museum’s current exhibition\, Re/imagining Maud Heath which explores the different ways Maud Heath and her Causeway have been celebrated by artists\, writers\, and everyday people across the centuries. \nThe Museum will also be joined by its Young Archaeology Group who will be running children’s activities as part of Festival of Archaeology along with the Conservation and Museums Advisory Service who will be demonstrating how we care for objects in the collection with help from our volunteers.

DESCRIPTION:Comedy fans in the area are in for a real treat this summer as the Chippenham Comedy Festival returns from 5th-7th July. The event is hosted by The Chippenham Comedy Club\, which has been bringing laughter to the town for over two decades thanks to\, award-winning comedian\, Wil Hodgson. The festival promises a hilarious lineup of top comedic talent from across the UK. \n\n\nThe comedy festival kicks off on Friday 5th July at 7pm with Eddie French’s “Poser” – a standup show exploring punk rock\, gender\, nerds and more. Followed at 8:30pm by Stephanie Laing with “Rudder” – a unique blend of standup\, dance\, and cartoon bears tackling bodies\, sex\, liking yourself\, consent\, and healing. Closing out Friday night at 10pm is Stephen Carlin with “Frenemies” where the longtime lone wolf finally embraces society after being a “fully paid up member of the awkward squad”  \nSaturday’s riotous lineup begins at 1:15pm with Bristol favourite\, Burt Williamson’s “Riding Bareback Through Your Mind.” Then at 2:30pm it’s Phil Ellis\, as seen and heard on BBC Radio 4\, BBC2\, Comedy Central and Sky\, before Caitriona Dowden brings her debut solo hour “Holier Than Thou” complete with graphs\, Catholic guilt\, and floating nuns at 3:45pm. Nate Kitch ponders tomorrow’s uncertainties at 5pm followed by Katie Mitchell’s “Wretched” – silly goth standup at its best at 7:15pm. Science fans are in for a treat at 8:30pm with Robin Ince\, the co-host of the legendary “Infinite Monkey Cage” with Brian Cox. Capping off Saturday is the popular “The Real Cheesemakers” band with support from Tom Veck at 10pm. \nSunday starts off at 12:30pm with the dynamic duo of Robin & Wil bringing “Something for the Weekend” – a show filled with random chats and funny observations. Then at 2pm\, David Hoare takes the stage with “1000% Musical Comedy” – a bumper show brimming with silliness and joyfully rude songs. Award winning viral sensation Sooz Kempner follows at 3:30pm with “Class of 2000” before Dani Johns gets viewers laughing off life’s cringeworthy moments with her appropriately titled “Cringe” at 5pm. Where does juggling motherhood\, teenagers\, menopause and worrying about being boring leave you? DESCRIPTION:CORSHAM WALKING FESTIVAL 2022 10th – 12th JUNE \nA warm welcome to this year’s Corsham Walking Festival. \nThis\, our 8th Walking Festival\,  has a great programme that allows all walkers to explore and discover this beautiful part of Wiltshire. To cater for a wide range of walking enthusiasts and abilities our walks vary in distance and go from Easy through Moderate to Challenging. \nAs always\, we will be offering some new walks\, we have fine-tuned some of the more favourite ones and have several experts to talk about specialist subjects en route\, as well as our experienced walk leaders and back markers to guide you. \nOur guided walks will cover: Ancient Parishes and Manor Houses\, Industrial and Rural Heritage\, Wildflowers and of course our beautiful Town and surrounding countryside with its hidden valleys\, meandering brooks\, and far-reaching views. \nThe Free Programme includes the ever-popular Children’s Treasure Hunt\, whilst families and groups can join in our Cryptic Mystery Walk – ‘True or False – Can You Tell the Difference’.
