DESCRIPTION:Our Beginner’s Couch to 5K Nordic Walk for Health Course is a structured\, supportive program designed to help individuals gradually build up their fitness and confidence to complete a 5K walk using Nordic walking techniques. \nPerfect for those new to exercise or returning after a break\, the course spans 10 weeks\, starting with short\, manageable sessions that focus on learning proper pole technique\, improving posture\, and developing a steady walking rhythm. Each week\, the intensity and walking duration gently increase\, helping participants boost their stamina and strength without feeling overwhelmed. \nWith guidance from a fully qualified British Nordic Walking instructor and the motivation of a group setting\, this course offers a fun\, social\, and achievable path to completing a 5K while enjoying the full-body benefits of Nordic walking. \nThis course will be held in John Coles Park where you will be able to go at your own pace and we hope to end our 10 weeks completing the 5k route that Chippenham Parkrun follow in Monkton Park. \nFor more information or to book a place please visit our website nordicnomads.net and fill in the ‘contact us’ form.

DESCRIPTION:Our Beginners Nordic walking course is the perfect introduction to this low-impact\, full-body exercise that combines walking with the use of specially designed poles. \nDesigned for all fitness levels\, the course typically covers the fundamentals of proper technique\, including posture\, rolling through the feet\, and the coordinated arm swing and leg movement. Participants learn how to use the poles effectively to engage the upper body\, improve balance\, and increase cardiovascular benefits compared to regular walking. \nThe course will be held outdoors in a relaxed\, supportive environment\, making it a great way to get active\, enjoy nature\, and meet like-minded people. By the end of the course\, participants often notice improved posture\, increased speed and distance and confidence in using Nordic walking poles efficiently to incorporate Nordic walking as part of a healthy lifestyle. \nThe 2 sessions will be held at Monkton Park\, meeting at the Tenth Hole Tea Room at 10.30am.
