SUMMARY:Wiltshire on Paper: Post-War Prints from the Bath Academy of Art
DESCRIPTION:The ‘Wiltshire on Paper: Post-War Prints from the Bath Academy of Art’ exhibition is a celebration of post-war printmaking from a unique time in Wiltshire’s creative history. \nOn display in Chippenham for the first time\, the exhibition features recent additions to Chippenham Museum’s art collection from the Golder-Thompson Gift. Visitors can enjoy works by nationally recognised artists including Howard Hodgkin\, Clifford & Rosemary Ellis and Anish Kapoor. An exhibition catalogue is soon to be available from the museum and online shop\, supported by the Arts Society (Kington Langley). \n\n8th January – 2nd April\, 2022 (excluding Sundays)\n10am-4pm daily Monday to Saturday\n7pm at special Museum Lates openings once a month. Thursday evenings: 13 January\, 3 February and 3 March.

DESCRIPTION:A textile art installation capturing the international collective experience of the pandemic. Visiting Chippenham Museum on a tour of the UK\, The Covid Chronicle features work by 70 textile artists across the world including from the Chippenham community. \nThe Covid Chronicle is a textile patchwork project to record and commemorate our individual and collective experience of living with Covid. The resulting giant artwork – a kind of Bayeux Tapestry – captures this moment in our history. \nChippenham Museum is free to visit\, open 10am – 4pm Monday – Saturday including Bank Holidays. \nLate opening until 7pm on Thursday 14 April and Thursday 5 May.

SUMMARY:Crafty Café: Meet the Artist
DESCRIPTION:Join Chippenham Museum’s resident crafters for a relaxed afternoon with Fi Redmond. Fi is a local textile artist whose work features in the museum’s exhibition\, The Covid Chronicle. \nOver tea and cake\, find out more about how lockdown and the global pandemic influenced Fi’s practice and gain insight into taking part in this national project featured in the museum’s gallery. This event is free to enjoy but booking is essential. \nChippenham Museum’s Crafty Café meet once a fortnight 2pm – 3.30pm for an afternoon of craft\, coffee and conversation. Drop-in for a chance to talk with other crafters\, swap patterns and share skills. \nYou are welcome to stay for the full 1.5 hour session and bring your own crafts.
