DESCRIPTION:We are happy to announce the schedule of live music to John Coles Park\, starting from 1 May every Sunday 3pm-5pm*. The bandstand concerts are free to attend\, and they are a wonderful opportunity to relax\, meet up with friends and family and listen to some fantastic music in the park. \n*5 June we are fortunate enough to have music in the park from 11am to 5pm hosted by Chippenham Hospital Radio as part of our Jubilee picnic for the local community. Born in Nettlebed on Valentine’s Day 1994 as a one-off special concert\, Feast of Fiddles has done 26 spring tours\, 24 festivals and has 7 CDs to its name. Not bad for a bunch of old folk-rockers! \nThis is a band of friends that puts on a show of huge dynamic range performed with passion\, joy and a liberal dose of fun. Typically\, fiddlers Peter Knight (Gigspanner\, Steeleye Span)\, Chris Leslie (Fairport Convention)\, Brian McNeill (Battlefield Band)\, Ian Cutler (Bully Wee)\, Tom Leary (Joe Brown) and Garry Blakeley (Band of Two) add the large range of fiddle playing styles to the rock back-line of guitars\, keyboards\, sax and accordion – all held together by legendary drummer Dave Mattacks. \nA live music entertainment like no other on the circuit which is guaranteed to be enjoyed by even the most doubting of friends dragged along! SUMMARY:Box Ukulele Festival
DESCRIPTION:The Box Ukulele Festival is a jam packed\, family-friendly day\, full of musical ukulele fun! A fantastic and varied line up of musical ukulele talent is scheduled\, with ukulele groups from near and far performing on stage throughout the day. \nIf you thought ukulele was just about George Formby then think again! This festival hosts bands catering to every taste! \nGates open at 1pm\, with live music throughout the afternoon and into the evening (ending at 11pm). Food stalls will be available and The Queen’s Head bars will be open\, with an outdoor bar and stage undercover in case of inclement British summer weather. \nEntrance is £10 per adult\, children are free and all proceeds will be donated to the wonderful Dorothy House Hospice Care. With happy ukulele sounds\, strum-alongs\, delicious food\, plenty to drink and a great village location this is a festival for music lovers young and old. \nSo come along and join us and bring your ukulele if you fancy a strum-along!
