SUMMARY:Walk Maud Heath's Causeway with Get Wiltshire Walking
DESCRIPTION:The walk is going to be led by the experienced team from Get Wiltshire Walking and there are three different walk lengths. \nEveryone will meet at 9.30am on the corner of Langley Road and Foundry Lane in Chippenham\, where the stone marks the end of Maud Heath’s Causeway. \nThe shortest walk will stop at Langley Burrell Village Hall and return to the start point. This is approximately 3 miles long. \nThe second walk will go all the way to the Moravian Church in East Tytherton and back to Chippenham. This is approximately 7.5 miles long. \nFinally\, the longest walk will go all the way to the start of the causeway at the top of Wick Hill and back into Chippenham. This walk is just shy of 10 miles. \nThere will be tea\, coffee\, cake and toilets at Langley Burrell Village Hall and The Moravian Church in East Tytherton* (*Whilst the Moravian Church does not have a public toilet\, for walkers who are desperate the Minister has said they can use hers). \nPlease make sure you wear appropriate clothing for the weather (we will update you nearer the time) and shoes for walking. Bring water and a packed lunch if you are taking part in the longer walks. \nThis walk is free to attend but please book your place in advance by emailing:-  emily@yesterdaysstory.co.uk

DESCRIPTION:Wiltshire Outdoor Learning Team are back again in Island Park with a Zip-wire experience as part of the Teen Takeover on Saturday 27th April. \nCome to Island Park (between old Wilkos and the Olympiad\, SN15 3JP) and experience the 60 metre long zip-wire for FREE. Starting at 11 metres high it’s a chance to experience something totally different in Chippenham! \nThe Zip-line will be open between 10am and 3pm. To avoid disappointment\, please book your place on one of the 30 minute sessions. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWiltshire Outdoor Learning Team (WOLT) are a not-for-profit organisation delivering outdoor learning activities across Wiltshire with sessions designed to challenge\, develop\, educate and make the outdoors enjoyable. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud\, leaves and puddles after rain. \nIt offers an opportunity for all the local community\, regardless of age or gender\, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy the outdoors and get physically active. DESCRIPTION:Sign up to Doorways Supermarket Sweep cycling fundraising event – taking place on Sunday 24th September\, there are a few routes for all abilities\, including a gentle family friendly route starting in John Coles Park cycling to Morrisons\, and routes of 25 miles and 45 miles for those wanting to get the miles in and challenge themselves\, why not get your family\, friends and work colleagues to sponsor you!? \nAll the routes incorporate stops at Supermarkets where you can buy some items off our shopping list to restock our food bank and then cycle to the finish point at Cousin Norman’s to continue the fundraising with a delicious BBQ (included in the ticket price) and a fantastic silent auction to help raise even more for Doorway. \nIf this is sounding like it could be fun and you want to take part but its missing a little something…….here is what the final little surprise might be….you don’t have to worry if you don’t have any lycra cycling shorts…we encourage you to dress up\, wear something fun\, bright and colourful and you could win a prize for the best dressed. \nIt’s going to be a fun day for all with plenty of entertainment after the hard work of cycling and raising money for Doorway.

DESCRIPTION:Only rain down the drain! \nDid you know that surface road drains lead directly into your local watercourse? This means that anything other than rain poured down the drain\, such as litter\, car oils\, detergents\, weed killers or wastewater can harm river health and its wildlife! \nBristol Avon River Trust (BART) are running an exciting Yellow Fish Campaign in the local area to help raise awareness of the impacts of human activity on water quality in the Bristol Avon. We are hosting a series of Yellowfish events with the local community\, which involves putting up posters to spread the message and painting yellow fish next to surface drains to remind the public that what enters the drain\, flows directly into the nearby river or stream. \nVolunteers will use stencils and chalk-based yellow spray paint to mark a yellow fish shape (a great family friendly activity!) \nBristol Avon Rivers Trust: is a charity which delivers education\, land and river management advice and practical river restoration work throughout the Bristol Avon catchment. DESCRIPTION:3 weekly sessions will teach you the fundamentals and techniques of British Nordic Walking using the INWA Ten Steps Programme. After which you’ll be able to book and join us on any of our weekly Nordic Walks. Each session lasts between 60 and 75 minutes and is suitable for all fitness levels. Pole hire is included.
