SUMMARY:Battle of Chippenham Re-enactment
DESCRIPTION:The English Civil War returns to Chippenham as the Town plays host to the English Civil War Society and the town is returned to the dramatic Summer of 1643 when the Civil War raged across Wiltshire and the West Country. \nEach afternoon there will be intense conflict as the Royalist and Roundhead Armies clash in Battle on Monkton Park with over 400 Pikemen\, Musketeers\, Gunners\, and Cavalry all taking part. This event\, inspired by a dramatic moment in Chippenham’s history will prove to be a massive weekend of Entertainment\, Excitement and Education by the English Civil War Society. \nAs in 1643\, Chippenham Village will also be occupied by Royalist soldiers from Sir Ralph Hopton’s army marching from the hard-fought battle at Lansdown Hill near Bath. Soldiers and Officers will be working at their Military Encampment while expecting a visit from their General Sir Ralph. A Regiment of Foote\, Cavalry on Horseback\, and Cannon will be taking part in further displays through the day for Visitors to see on Monkton Park. \nThere will be a large and thriving encampment and tented village on The Island\, Monkton Park\, where 17th Century trades and crafts will be demonstrated by the townsfolk and including a working printing press giving out the latest newssheets with tidings of the war and other news. Here the re-enactors will be happy to meet visitors\, explain their work and to share stories about Chippenham’s role in the English Civil War. \nCheck out the full timetable giving details of all the Displays through each day: –

DESCRIPTION:We are happy to announce the schedule of live music to John Coles Park\, starting from 1 May every Sunday 3pm-5pm*. Do you want to spend a day of relaxing and connective activities that nourish your soul? \nIf so\, then come along and join in one of our 4 Woodland Wellbeing Retreat Days\, starting on 26th June 2021. Other dates are 24th July\, 14th August and 25th September 2021. \nThese events provide a wonderful opportunity for people to have some time away for themselves\, connecting with nature\, with themselves and with like-minded people. The days comprise of a mix of meditations\, mindfulness practices\, shamanic journeying\, chakra balancing and energy alignment\, sound therapy and healing plus more. At the end of the day people will feel relaxed\, recharged and replenished. The groups are being facilitated by two qualified and professional therapists: Dawn is a psychotherapeutic counsellor and Sara is an intuitive healer. \nThe mornings will be held in the Hayloft\, followed by lunch and “me & just being time” before heading up to the private woodland for the afternoon. The venue is Highway Hill\, just outside of Calne\, Wiltshire which is set in 100 acres of private woodland in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

DESCRIPTION:The second part of Chippenham Museum’s exhibition series celebrating North Wiltshire’s creativity\, Spotlight On features 40 works by local artists. Open Monday to Saturday with free entry\, visitors can drop-in 10am to 1pm or book a free timed ticket at 1pm\, 2pm or 3pm to enjoy sole use of the museum. \nThe collection has been acquired by the museum in the past five years to ensure our collection better represents the amazing artistic talent found in this area. The exhibition includes paintings\, sculpture\, ceramics and photography; almost all of which are on display for the first time and have been donated to the museum by the artists. \nVisitors to John Coles Park and Monkton Park can spot ten images of the exhibition’s artworks on trees with trail Art Outdoors\, sponsored by The Kington Langley Arts Society. SUMMARY:FOQC Half term Pumpkin Trail
DESCRIPTION:Friends of Queen Crescent school (FOQC) and Co-op are very excited to be running our second Pumpkin Trail around the local estate this half term. We will be hiding pumpkins around the estate between the 23rd and 30th October.  The theme this year is Video Games and each pumpkin will also contain a letter for an anagram on the same theme. \nWe suggest a minimum donation of £2 per family and the map will be available digitally from the 22nd October either on our FOQC Facebook page or get in contact at our competitions email address. All correct answers emailed to us will go in a draw with the chance to win one of the sweetie hamper prizes kindly donated by Bonnie’s Sweet Shop. \n\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n		\n\nWinners will be drawn at random from all correct entries on 3rd November. Winners will be notified that week and posted on our Facebook page. \nWe really hope you will enjoy this event. Please be considerate of the local community whilst doing the trail. Lots of pumpkins go to landfill every year so FOQC are encouraging all our pumpkin trail volunteers to go eco friendly and use their pumpkins to feed themselves or the wildlife. You may also see alternatives around the trail made of cardboard or papier-mâché.

SUMMARY:Scarecrow Trail - Cepen Park South
DESCRIPTION:This is the first Cepen Park South Residents Scarecrow Trail and it’s taking place between 4th and 12th July 2020. \n\nThe idea came about during lockdown\, the residents thought it would be a fun way to raise funds for a fantastic charity whilst giving families something to do in making and attending the trail while many children aren’t at school.  \nWe are hoping to receive a voluntary contribution of £2 from each family taking part in the trail. Once the donation has been made please do contact us via our Facebook page or via email –  and a team member will send you a copy of the map. \nDonating through JustGiving is simple\, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate\, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity. \nThere is no prize this year due to the social distancing rules\, but we hope to have prizes in future years.
