DESCRIPTION:The Grief Opera may be the most moving show you see this year. \n“A brilliant musical rendition of the six stages of grief”\, “The most thought-provoking evening of my life”\, “Everything you would want from a work of art”. “It will resonate with everyone who has lost someone and may help navigate grief in future”. \nThe Grief Opera is a musical journey through shock and pain to profound love. Nigel Linacre wrote the words in the months after his musician son’s death by his own hand. Jazz band leader Vladimir Miller used George’s rhythms as a starting point to compose the music\, which combines jazz and classical forms. International opera star Neil Latchman and rock singer Keri Farish lead the vocalists\, accompanied by Nigel Linacre and Gavin Macrae\, both of whom have lost a son to suicide.

DESCRIPTION:Wiltshire Rural Music are proud to present our 2022 Liz Laurence Award Winner GABRIEL LONGBOTHAM on Saturday 29th July at The Cause\, Chippenham. \n“An evening of beautiful\, soulful music showcasing Devizes’ finest young talent – the incredible Gabriel Longbotham” \nGabriel is a 19 year old pianist\, organist and songwriter from Devizes. He attended St Augustine’s School in Trowbridge and is currently studying music at Royal Northern College in Manchester. He won our Liz Lawrence Award last April after wowing the judges with his talent on piano. \nAs a Wiltshire based charity\, WRM aims to provide young people with access to music without the barrier of cost. Gabriel received bursaries from WRM to assist him in his musical studies\, and\, as a result of support from this scheme\, he achieved his Grade 8. \nThe Liz Laurence Award consists of a £1\,000 prize which was presented by the Mayor of Devizes\, but also the chance to perform a one off hometown gig with the charity’s help.
