DESCRIPTION:A relaxed and not-scary block of 5 classes exploring movement and mark-making; what happens on the paper if the marks aren’t solely relying on the eyes to observe? How can our bodies explore dance in tandem with a mark-maker? And other curiosities! \nGeorgie has many years of dance experience in community and professional settings and has been moving and marking throughout. Kim is a highly skilled creative and has an embodied drawing practice. We will lead you in a gentle and collaborative way through some playful exercises. SUMMARY:Shooting Roots: Make a Band workshop
DESCRIPTION:Part of Chippenham Folk Festival’s youth festival\, but open to all 11-17s across the area. \nFolk arts specialists Shooting Roots travel folk festivals across the country\, a organisation of young people working with teens to have fun together\, learn new skills\, explore folk arts and make new friends. \n\nAt the Make a Band workshops\, you’ll get to do exactly that – bring your instruments and favourite tunes to form a brand new band with other young people under the guidance of Shooting Roots tutors. Today Chippenham\, tomorrow the world?\n\nWith three workshops across the weekend\, participants will work together to build an original performance to showcase on the festival’s Community Stage on Monday afternoon. \nEither pay £3 on the door\, or purchase a £25 youth ticket to the festival\, which allows access to all Chippenham Folk Festival’s exclusive youth events for 11-17 year olds as well as the rest of the festival – all ceilidhs\, dances\, concerts\, workshops across the weekend.

DESCRIPTION:Sparkly Singers is the award-winning Wiltshire-based choir experience\, founded with the simple aim of bringing the joy and benefits of group singing to everyone\, regardless of age\, experience or ability. \nRather than splitting into parts and learning harmonies\, we prefer instead to sing in unison\, infusing songs with our own rather unique mix of humour\, movement and the occasional wacky prop. \nAlongside our sessions in Chippenham (Monday lunchtimes) and Royal Wootton Bassett (Tuesday evenings)\, the Sparkly Singers meet every Thursday evening from 8:00pm at the Lansdowne Hall in Derry Hill. \nSo if you simply love to sing\, but have yet to find the choir that perfectly complements your sense of fun\, why not enquire about one of our FREE taster sessions and come and see what we’re all about.
