SUMMARY:Capturing Chippenham’s Wild Side
DESCRIPTION:This spring\, Chippenham Museum Photo Club will be heading out and about to explore the local wildlife. From riverscapes to wildflower meadows\, there is so much to see and enjoy in and around our town\, and the group will be busy on their club nights capturing the wild and wonderful with their cameras. \nLed by experienced photographer Steve Jones from The Little Photo Company\, Photo Club will be running two special edition sessions. Would you like to join in? \nSession 1: Wednesday 8 April\, 2pm – 3.30pm\nThe group will be heading to Westmead Open Space\, a wonderful wildlife hotspot. We will spend an afternoon exploring this beautiful riverside green\, space managed by Chippenham Borough Lands Charity. \nSession 2: Wednesday 20 May\, 4.30pm – 5.30pm\nThe group will be exploring Vincients Wood\, a semi-natural broadleaved woodland\, managed by Wiltshire Wildlife Trust. \nAs well as developing practical camera skills\, we will investigate the areas and learn more about our local wildlife and natural environment. \nThese special one-off sessions are free and open to any young person aged 11-17. No photography experience is needed. All cameras are welcome\, including mobile phones\, and a club camera is available to borrow if required. \nYou will also have the opportunity to have your work celebrated in a public exhibition during Chippenham’s Eco Future Fest on Sunday 14 June. Eco Future Fest is a community festival celebrating our natural world and all things sustainable. The event will take place at Chippenham Town Hall from 11am to 4pm. \nPlaces are limited\, so booking via Eventbrite is essential.

During this workshop\, we will cover how to create fantastic photographs using DIY filters. \nThe workshop is aimed at ages 7-19 years old. Don’t be put off by the age gap\, tasks and challenges are adjusted depending on age and skill level. You don’t need a fancy camera for this workshop\, anything that has the ability to take a photograph will work great. Eg: Phone\, Tablet\, compact camera\, SLR. During this workshop\, you will take part in interactive games and challenges. By the end of the workshop\, you will have made your very own DIY filters and learnt how to use them effectively. \nThe workshop is split up into 3 parts. Part 1: introduction\, game\, photography challenge and task explained. Part 2: Make your DIY filters and complete the task in your home. SUMMARY:Adult Beginners Phone Photography Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Are you interested in taking professional looking photographs from your smart phone? Join Kez from The Photo Club as she shows you how to get the most from your smart phone camera. Learn tips and tricks to take more creative and meaningful photographs. Each phone is different so we will cover what features you have on your phone and how to use them. Some of these include\, focus\, panorama\, monochrome\, light painting\, documents\, portrait\, night and flash. \nAfter the workshop you will be able to put your skills into action whether that be taking photographs of your family\, pets or beautiful landscapes you walk to. The workshop is an interactive workshop\, meaning you will have to leave your computer and test out a certain features or techniques with a photography challenge. Don’t worry you can do this from the room you are in. If you would like to be prepared\, gather some things to photograph and try to be in a well lit room. \nBefore the course please find out the make and model of your phone\, this will help Kez during the workshop if she needs to help you locate a hidden feature. \nBook your place on the workshop here. SUMMARY:Colour Photography Workshop with The Photo Club
DESCRIPTION:The colour photography workshop is for young people aged 7-19 years old. This workshop is funded by Chippenham Borough Lands Charity as part of the Fringe Feb Festival. \nThe workshop will focus on how colour plays such an important role in photography\, you will learn how to capture colour in creative ways. Don’t be put off by the age gap\, tasks and challenges are adjusted depending on age and skill level.  You don’t need a fancy camera for this workshop\, anything that has the ability to take a photograph will work great. Eg: Phone\, Tablet\, compact camera\, SLR. During this workshop\, you will take part in interactive games and challenges. \nThe workshop is split up into 3 parts. Part 1: introduction\, game\, photography challenge and task explained. Part 2: complete the challenge in your home. Part 3: Join the group to show off our photographs and talk about the task together. \nBook your place on the workshop here. DESCRIPTION:Stephen Davis\, former Head of Conservation at Wiltshire Wildlife Trust\, gives a FREE online workshop on nature photography.
