DESCRIPTION:Returning to school after the summer holidays can be a daunting prospect for many.\nIt can cause stress\, anxiety and unease. \nPerhaps your child is moving up to a secondary school.\nPerhaps they are moving to a different school.\nPerhaps your child is sensitive to change and finds it difficult to deal with.\nPerhaps their experience of being at school is not always enjoyable.\nPerhaps they just need a space in which they can re-charge and re-set their mind for the new school year. \nI understand how stressful and demanding the transition can be both for children and parents. \nThis summer I’d like to help you make the experience a bit easier\, smoother and less stressful. \nThat’s why we’ve decided to hold a mindfulness and meditation workshop. \nWhat would it be like to spend 2 hours in a space in which your child can totally relax\, escape their worries\, be free of anxiety and stress ? \nWhat would it be like for you and your child to spend 2 hours exploring your ability to find peace through fun mindful activities and games\, through listening to soothing sounds and a guided visualisation? \nWhat would it be like to learn techniques which can help you and your children ease their anxiety helping them manage their return to school better? \nWhat would it feel like to be with your child\, be truly present with them and create genuine connection for you so that you can support them during the transition back to school and beyond? \nOur mindfulness and meditation workshop for parents and children offers just that. \nI’m Katerina\, founder of MindCraft\, and at the very end of the summer holidays I bring you a unique workshop for children and their parents. My workshop is designed to support children\, young teens and their parents who: \n– find the transition back to school after the summer holidays a challenge\n– suffer from anxiety\, stress or overwhelm\nare sensitive to change. DESCRIPTION:Neptune Swim School’s popular intensive swimming crash courses will be running this summer at Starfish Hydrotherapy Pool\, Malmesbury Road\, Chippenham. \nOur crash courses are available for children aged 3 years+\, the perfect way to introduce your young child to the swimming lesson environment and learn some basic water skills. \nThe intensive courses are also an ideal opportunity for swimmers to move further along on their swim program\, improve their existing strokes and learn exciting new skills. \nWe currently offer crash courses for our Ducklings\, Turtles and Jellyfish stages (equivalent to Swim England Stages 1-4.) \nAll courses are 5 days\, with children swimming every day for 25 minutes. SUMMARY:FOQC Half term Pumpkin Trail
DESCRIPTION:Friends of Queen Crescent school (FOQC) and Co-op are very excited to be running our second Pumpkin Trail around the local estate this half term. We will be hiding pumpkins around the estate between the 23rd and 30th October.  The theme this year is Video Games and each pumpkin will also contain a letter for an anagram on the same theme. \nWe suggest a minimum donation of £2 per family and the map will be available digitally from the 22nd October either on our FOQC Facebook page or get in contact at our competitions email address. All correct answers emailed to us will go in a draw with the chance to win one of the sweetie hamper prizes kindly donated by Bonnie’s Sweet Shop. \n\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n		\n\nWinners will be drawn at random from all correct entries on 3rd November. Winners will be notified that week and posted on our Facebook page. \nWe really hope you will enjoy this event. Please be considerate of the local community whilst doing the trail. Lots of pumpkins go to landfill every year so FOQC are encouraging all our pumpkin trail volunteers to go eco friendly and use their pumpkins to feed themselves or the wildlife. You may also see alternatives around the trail made of cardboard or papier-mâché.
