DESCRIPTION:Returning to school after the summer holidays can be a daunting prospect for many.\nIt can cause stress\, anxiety and unease. \nPerhaps your child is moving up to a secondary school.\nPerhaps they are moving to a different school.\nPerhaps your child is sensitive to change and finds it difficult to deal with.\nPerhaps their experience of being at school is not always enjoyable.\nPerhaps they just need a space in which they can re-charge and re-set their mind for the new school year. \nI understand how stressful and demanding the transition can be both for children and parents. \nThis summer I’d like to help you make the experience a bit easier\, smoother and less stressful. \nThat’s why we’ve decided to hold a mindfulness and meditation workshop. \nWhat would it be like to spend 2 hours in a space in which your child can totally relax\, escape their worries\, be free of anxiety and stress ? \nWhat would it be like for you and your child to spend 2 hours exploring your ability to find peace through fun mindful activities and games\, through listening to soothing sounds and a guided visualisation? \nWhat would it be like to learn techniques which can help you and your children ease their anxiety helping them manage their return to school better? \nWhat would it feel like to be with your child\, be truly present with them and create genuine connection for you so that you can support them during the transition back to school and beyond? \nOur mindfulness and meditation workshop for parents and children offers just that. \nI’m Katerina\, founder of MindCraft\, and at the very end of the summer holidays I bring you a unique workshop for children and their parents. My workshop is designed to support children\, young teens and their parents who: \n– find the transition back to school after the summer holidays a challenge\n– suffer from anxiety\, stress or overwhelm\nare sensitive to change. DESCRIPTION:The River Run is back for 2022! \nThe 5k River Run and 2k Fun Run follow a largely traffic free multi-terrain route along the banks of the River Avon\, starting and finishing in Monkton Park\, near the Olympiad Leisure Centre. \nThe River Run is a great community event which attracts people of all abilities and ages. The 5k distance means that it is ideal for the beginners and the inclusion of the Fun Run makes it the perfect summer evening event for families. The 5k is open to anyone aged 13 and over and the Fun Run is for 4 – 14 year olds. \nPrizes in age categories for both races. All 5k finishers will receive a Tech T shirt with a brand new design for 2022. All Fun Run 2k finishers receive a medal.

DESCRIPTION:This half term join Chippenham Museum’s Photoclub for some free photo fun. \nExhibition ‘Our Photo Journey’ \nThe club’s autumn photographic exhibition and first display together as a group. \nMuseum Trail \nTake part in the club’s photographic challenge to see if you can find their favorite objects around the museum. \nFree Photography Workshops \nWednesday 27 October\, ages 11 – 17\, booking essential. Two sessions giving tips and techniques for taking great photos on whatever camera you have\, including a mobile phone\, with Photoclub leader Kez. \nAround the Museum: 10.30am – 12pm book here \nTake part in a photography challenge hunting around the museum for the best objects to photograph. \n \nMuseum Objects: 1.30pm – 3.30pm book here \nJoin us as we handle and photograph a collection of museum objects. Learn about their history and how to photograph the object in a professional setting. \n \n\nThe museum’s afterschool Photoclub for ages 11 – 17 meets on Wednesdays in term-time 4.30 – 5.30\, £6 per session. The club aims to improve self-expression and motivation\, focusing on activities to help mental health and wellbeing while capturing great images and having fun. Contact the museum to join a free trial session. \nChippenham Museum is a Chippenham Town Council facility\, open Monday – Saturday 10am – 4pm with free entry.
