SUMMARY:Instant Wit!
DESCRIPTION:The best in improvised comedy. Fresh and inventive\, each show throws up new nuggets of hilarity crafted by a company of the highest calibre. It’s a pick-me-up tonic with unexpected twists and a dash of sauce. \nThere’ll be sketches\, songs and general silliness – and all of it based around audience suggestions. And if you’re too shy to shout anything out? Well don’t worry\, you’ll have the chance to write things down in the interval. We’re the ones who’ll look daft\, not you! \nSo now’s the time to indulge yourself of you’ve always had a secret yearning to see something really bizarre on stage. A country and western song about a musical cat flap? Julius Ceasar on a camping holiday with Cleopatra? Well\, why not? Your wish is our command. Good suggestions get flying packets of custard\, the best a bottle of wine. \nMany people have seen improvised comedy on the t.v. – but remember\, this is not recorded and edited\, but totally live\, making it trickier for the actors but more exciting for the audience. So\, if you like your comedy fast-paced and with a slightly unusual edge\, this is definately for you. \nWe’re proud to use some of the best local talent\, with our performers regularly appearing at the Tobacco Factory\, Theatre Royal Bath and Bristol Old Vic. \nInstant Wit – a bunch of very unusual suspects who are forever on the run from the comedy police! \n“These are conspicuously skilful performers – everyone is exhilarated on stage and off!” – The Guardian \n“Extremely funny\, on occasion hilarious… Very clever and skilful with their improvised comedy sketches. They got the audience involved at every opportunity – they even made up a song about a round of sausage sandwiches I had had for breakfast!” – Bristol Evening Post

SUMMARY:A Midsummer Night's Dream
DESCRIPTION:A Midsummer Night’s Dream\n‘The course of true love never did run smooth.’ \nA feuding fairy King and Queen of the forest cross paths with four runaway lovers and a troupe of actors trying to rehearse a play. As their dispute grows\, the magical royal couple meddle with mortal lives leading to love triangles\, mistaken identities and transformations… with hilarious\, but dark consequences. \nShakespeare’s most famous romantic comedy was filmed live from the Bridge Theatre in London. Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones)\, Oliver Chris (Green Wing\, NT Live: Young Marx)\, David Moorst (NT Live: Allelujah!) and Hammed Animashaun (The Barber Shop Chronicles) lead the cast as Titania\, Oberon\, Puck and Bottom. \nDirected by Nicholas Hytner\, this production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream builds on the success of his immersive staging of Julius Caesar (filmed live in 2018). \nThe theatre becomes a forest – a dream world of flying fairies\, contagious fogs and moonlight revels\, surrounded by a roving audience following the action on foot. \nAvailable on the National Theatre’s YouTube channel from Thursday 25 June at 7pm UK time until 11 June at 7pm.  12A rating. \n★ ★ ★ ★ ★ \nWe’re propelled into a realm of fairies and fantasy — conjured up in unapologetically crowd-pleasing style\, with Arlene Phillips as movement director and a soundtrack that includes Beyoncé and Dizzee Rascal. \nThe Standard \n★ ★ ★ ★ ★ \nWhen\, at the end\, large moon balloons are tossed into the crowd\, it seems the party will go on forever. I found myself calculating: five stars might not be enough. How about throwing in an extra moon? \nThe Guardian
