The Easter Bunny has been busy hiding 16 Easter eggs around the town. \nYou can collect a trail sheet from the Customer Services Easter Display at the Town Hall or download one HERE. \nFollow the map to locate each egg and its letter. Write the letters on your sheet and unscramble them to crack the Easter Bunny’s secret code. \nOnce completed\, return your trail sheet to the Customer Services Easter Display area at the Town Hall to collect a chocolatey treat. \nPlease note: The Town Hall will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday\, but trail sheets will be available from Chippenham Museum between 10am and 4pm on these days. \nIf you’d like to be entered into the prize draw for an Easter Hamper\, please write your details on your completed trail sheet. \nThe Chippenham Easter Egg Trail is in partnership with Melt Productions.

With over 40 scarecrows\, it is one of the biggest trails in the area. \nTrail sheets are available from Monkton Park School\, The Tenth Hole Tea Room and Londis from 10am to 5pm on both days. \nOn Saturday 17th May there’s an also a BBQ\, bar and family fun day happening at Monkton Park School as part of the annual scarecrow trail – and on Sunday 18th May refreshments also available. \n  \n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:For the fourth year running\, come and experience the banks of the River Avon spectacularly lit up\, bringing some wonderful Christmas cheer into the heart of Chippenham. Situated within its usual spot of The Island in Monkton Park\, the event will once more feature a full roster of live\, festive entertainment. \nThe trail will be open Thursday 28th November – Sunday 1st December (inclusive). \nWith family friendly activities\, workshops and performances throughout the afternoon\, leading on to more adult based evening entertainment. Showcasing live Music and Comedy from some excellent musicians and comedians\, to Film Screenings\, Festive Workshops\, Artisan Market stall traders and even a live Brass Band playing Christmas Carols by Candlelight! \nThe event is funded by Chippenham Town Council in collaboration with Melt Productions and is a completely free experience for the local community and surrounding areas to enjoy. \nAll seating will be allocated on a first come\, first serve basis\, so please ensure you arrive nice and early if you are keen to watch any of the live shows and entertainment. \nThis years’ focal point will once again be the beautiful wooden Roundhouse\, a cosy\, heated wooden structure serving up delicious hot and cold drinks and tasty food from local vendors. DESCRIPTION:A walking\, watching\, writing\, short poetry experience! \nA “ginko” is a traditional activity in Japan\, and is the term for going on a walk\, in a group\, specifically to write poetry. \nCome and write short poems with us\, on a walk along the Chippenham Avon and its environs. There’ll be plenty of time to stop\, stare\, and take notes along a maximum of 2.5 miles distance. We’ll then sit down outside (under outside cover according to weather) to finish three-line Japanese-style “haiku”\, or other short poems. A hot or cold drink will be included in the ticket price. At all points there will be plenty of one-to-one guidance\, from published poets and experienced tutors Alan Summers and Karen Hoy of Call of the Page. \nSeasons are important in Japanese poetry. We will be leading a summer\, autumn\, winter\, and spring walking writing workshop. You can book for the first one\, a summer ginko\, below. Anticipate dragonflies\, swans\, lily pads\, and willow trees. \nDate: Saturday August 13th 2022\nTime: 10 am to 1 pm \nWe start and end at Chippenham Town Bridge (less than 5 minutes walk from Chippenham station\, and car parks). DESCRIPTION:Friends of Queen Crescent school (FOQC) and Co-op are very excited to be running our second Pumpkin Trail around the local estate this half term. We will be hiding pumpkins around the estate between the 23rd and 30th October.  The theme this year is Video Games and each pumpkin will also contain a letter for an anagram on the same theme. \nWe suggest a minimum donation of £2 per family and the map will be available digitally from the 22nd October either on our FOQC Facebook page or get in contact at our competitions email address. All correct answers emailed to us will go in a draw with the chance to win one of the sweetie hamper prizes kindly donated by Bonnie’s Sweet Shop. \n\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n		\n\nWinners will be drawn at random from all correct entries on 3rd November. Winners will be notified that week and posted on our Facebook page. \nWe really hope you will enjoy this event. Please be considerate of the local community whilst doing the trail. Lots of pumpkins go to landfill every year so FOQC are encouraging all our pumpkin trail volunteers to go eco friendly and use their pumpkins to feed themselves or the wildlife. DESCRIPTION:Use a phone or tablet to enjoy Chippenham Museum’s self-led audible walking tour introducing some of the events and people that have shaped St Mary Street. The digital trail takes place Friday 11 – Sunday 20 September for Heritage Open Days and is free to enjoy at any time of day. \nStroll along this hidden gem and scan QR codes for a mixture of family-friendly fun and an introduction to the development of the street. To take part use a QR Code scanning app downloaded to a phone or tablet with access to mobile data. For a guide to the QR code locations\, visit Chippenham Museum’s website. \nHeritage Open Days is England’s largest annual festival of history and culture with sites across the country celebrating their heritage.\n————————————————————————–\nThe trail has been created by Chippenham Museum\, a Chippenham Town Council facility with free entry and level access throughout. Visits are currently by free timed ticket giving sole use of the museum for one hour Monday – Saturday 10am – 4pm. Booking is available via the museum’s page on Chippenham Town Council’s website or by calling 01249 705020. \nDue to the Covid-19 pandemic please be mindful of others when enjoying the trail\, maintain social distancing and if busy return when quieter. In the event of government guidance changing\, the trail may be cancelled at short notice.
