Meet: 8:50am at the Multi-use Games Area in Monkton Park \nThe course is run on a mixture of trail paths\, tarmac paths and gravel paths. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud\, leaves and puddles after rain. \nIt offers an opportunity for all the local community\, regardless of age or gender\, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy the outdoors and get physically active. DESCRIPTION:Returning to school after the summer holidays can be a daunting prospect for many.\nIt can cause stress\, anxiety and unease. \nPerhaps your child is moving up to a secondary school.\nPerhaps they are moving to a different school.\nPerhaps your child is sensitive to change and finds it difficult to deal with.\nPerhaps their experience of being at school is not always enjoyable.\nPerhaps they just need a space in which they can re-charge and re-set their mind for the new school year. \nI understand how stressful and demanding the transition can be both for children and parents. \nThis summer I’d like to help you make the experience a bit easier\, smoother and less stressful. \nThat’s why we’ve decided to hold a mindfulness and meditation workshop. \nWhat would it be like to spend 2 hours in a space in which your child can totally relax\, escape their worries\, be free of anxiety and stress ? \nWhat would it be like for you and your child to spend 2 hours exploring your ability to find peace through fun mindful activities and games\, through listening to soothing sounds and a guided visualisation? \nWhat would it be like to learn techniques which can help you and your children ease their anxiety helping them manage their return to school better? \nWhat would it feel like to be with your child\, be truly present with them and create genuine connection for you so that you can support them during the transition back to school and beyond? \nOur mindfulness and meditation workshop for parents and children offers just that. \nI’m Katerina\, founder of MindCraft\, and at the very end of the summer holidays I bring you a unique workshop for children and their parents. My workshop is designed to support children\, young teens and their parents who: \n– find the transition back to school after the summer holidays a challenge\n– suffer from anxiety\, stress or overwhelm\nare sensitive to change. DESCRIPTION:The River Run is back for 2022! \nThe 5k River Run and 2k Fun Run follow a largely traffic free multi-terrain route along the banks of the River Avon\, starting and finishing in Monkton Park\, near the Olympiad Leisure Centre. \nThe River Run is a great community event which attracts people of all abilities and ages. The 5k distance means that it is ideal for the beginners and the inclusion of the Fun Run makes it the perfect summer evening event for families. The 5k is open to anyone aged 13 and over and the Fun Run is for 4 – 14 year olds. \nPrizes in age categories for both races. All 5k finishers will receive a Tech T shirt with a brand new design for 2022. All Fun Run 2k finishers receive a medal.

DESCRIPTION:Our Try Climbing fun day is a perfect opportunity to have a go at rock climbing\, play games\, find out about climbing and meet the team behind Chippenham’s new activity centre. \nEvent details \n\n9.30am – 4.00pm on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd August 2021* at Westmead Playing Field\, off Westmead Lane\, Chippenham\, SN15 3HZ\nMeet staff from The Climbing Academy who will be running The Arc. They will be on hand to provide information about climbing and their other centres\, share special offers and to play games with attendees.\nStaff and trustees from Chippenham Borough Lands Charity will be able to provide you with further information about the Westmead Activity Centre\, the ‘Borough Lands’ and our grant giving to Chippenham residents.\nGet a taste of this exhilarating lifetime sport on a mobile self-belaying climbing wall provided by Wiltshire Outdoor Learning Team (WOLT).\nOpen to over 5-year olds and suitable for all ages (please note to fit the harnesses you need to be under 18 stone).\n£1 to climb each wall with 4 walls to climb in total.\nThe walls can have 4 people climbing at any one time and use automatic belays. The auto belay system ensures each climber descends steadily and safely at all times.\nThere are different climbing challenges across the 4 climbing routes making it perfect for complete beginners to experienced climbers. DESCRIPTION:Turn up and play between 10am and 3pm for a selection of Football\, Handball\, Tag Rugby\, Lacrosse\, Kwik Cricket\, Rounders\, Ultimate Frisbee and Dodgeball. \n\nWednesday 28th July – Little Battens Multi Use Games Area\nThursday 5th August – John Coles Park Multi Use Games Area and field\nTuesday 10th August – Pewsham Park Multi Use Games Area\nMonday 23 August – Monkton Park Multi Use Games Area and main field.\n\nThere will be 2 qualified sports coaches from Up and Under Sports for each session with no booking required. \nSuitable for all Primary and Secondary school aged children. \nThis is a Chippenham Town Council event funded by Chippenham Borough Lands Charity.
