SUMMARY:Peter Potworowski: West Country Exile
DESCRIPTION:Born in Poland in 1898\, Peter Potworowski was part of the Parisian Artistic community of the 1920s that included the likes of Picasso\, Bonnard\, and Léger. After the Nazi-occupation of his home-land Potworowski settled in England in 1943\, beginning a long association with the West Country. \nThe majority of works in this selling exhibition are from his time living in Cornwall\, Devon\, Somerset and Wiltshire. In 1949 he joined the teaching staff at the Bath Academy of Art\, Corsham\, where his own work as an artist matured in contact with the English landscape. \nChippenham Museum\, a Chippenham Town Council facility\, is free entry\, open Monday-Saturday 10am-4pm\, including bank holidays.

Charlie is a fantastic teacher’ \nBrilliantly designed and delivered 6 x 6 week courses for beginners with Charlie\, who has 25 years experience teaching in Further and Higher Education as well as an artist. \nStarting back on the 31st October\, 2023 for the next 6 week block:- \n1. An introduction to Drawing – objects\n2. An introduction to acrylic painting – still life\n3. Interiors – drawing and painting – light and space\n4. Portrait – drawing and painting – proportion and likeness\n5. Landscape/Outdoors – colour theory\, depth of field\n6. Personal project – development of your own ideas and practice \nTuesdays at 9.30am – 11.30am (with Improvers class running 12.30pm – 2.30pm)\n£96 including all materials and coffee. \nYour place will be confirmed on receipt of payment.
