DESCRIPTION:Welcome to this year’s Corsham Walking Festival. \nFor our 8th Walking Festival\, we have again numerous walks\, and we hope you will find something to enjoy. To cater for a wide range of walking enthusiasts and abilities our walks vary in distance from 1.5 to 16.5 miles that go from Easy through Moderate to Challenging. \nThe Committee have been working hard since last October to offer some new walks\, fine-tuning some of your favourites and we have several experts to talk about specialist subjects en route\, as well as our experienced walk leaders and back markers to guide you. \nOur guided walks will cover: All the points of the compass from Corsham\, Ancient Parishes and Manor Houses\, Industrial and Rural Heritage\, Wildflowers and of course our beautiful countryside with hidden valleys\, meandering brooks and far-reaching views. \nOur Free Programme includes the ever-popular Children’s Treasure Hunt. Whilst families and groups can join in our Cryptic Mystery Walk – ‘True or False – Can You Tell the Difference?’\, to test your powers of observation as all is not as it appears! \nThe Committee\, Walk Leaders and Back Markers will be making sure that everything that can be done to make the Festival and the walks all ‘Covid safe’. We will have pre-walked all of the walks\, carried out risk assessments\, put in place the booking system and kept an eye on any last-minute changes to the Government Covid advice. \nTo find out more information please visit our website which will have all of walk detail and how to book.

SUMMARY:Castle Combe and the surrounding areas
DESCRIPTION:A walk starting from the upper car park at Castle Combe\, which then passes through some lovely countryside on our way to the village of Ford via Long Dean. \nWe then head to North Wraxall\, on to Nettleton Mill House. then the Castle Combe golf course and back to the cars. DESCRIPTION:Take a walk in Monkton Park with a bit of a difference. Join local artist Kirsty Jones with Chippenham Museum to explore the park’s riverside paths\, open spaces and architectural views. Experiment with different drawing exercises and mediums to capture your evening stroll. \nThis workshop is inspired by the museum’s exhibition\, as local Victorian diarist Rev. Francis Kilvert was a frequent visitor to Monkton House. \nAt this session you will receive a pack with pencils\, charcoal and plenty of paper. SUMMARY:FOQC Half term Pumpkin Trail
DESCRIPTION:Friends of Queen Crescent school (FOQC) and Co-op are very excited to be running our second Pumpkin Trail around the local estate this half term. We will be hiding pumpkins around the estate between the 23rd and 30th October.  The theme this year is Video Games and each pumpkin will also contain a letter for an anagram on the same theme. \nWe suggest a minimum donation of £2 per family and the map will be available digitally from the 22nd October either on our FOQC Facebook page or get in contact at our competitions email address. All correct answers emailed to us will go in a draw with the chance to win one of the sweetie hamper prizes kindly donated by Bonnie’s Sweet Shop. \n\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n		\n\nWinners will be drawn at random from all correct entries on 3rd November. Winners will be notified that week and posted on our Facebook page. \nWe really hope you will enjoy this event. Please be considerate of the local community whilst doing the trail. Lots of pumpkins go to landfill every year so FOQC are encouraging all our pumpkin trail volunteers to go eco friendly and use their pumpkins to feed themselves or the wildlife. You may also see alternatives around the trail made of cardboard or papier-mâché.
