SUMMARY:Mark Making - Movement and Drawing
DESCRIPTION:A relaxed and not-scary block of 5 classes exploring movement and mark-making; what happens on the paper if the marks aren’t solely relying on the eyes to observe? How can our bodies explore dance in tandem with a mark-maker? And other curiosities! \nGeorgie has many years of dance experience in community and professional settings and has been moving and marking throughout. Kim is a highly skilled creative and has an embodied drawing practice. We will lead you in a gentle and collaborative way through some playful exercises. This is an open class with choice throughout – get in touch if you have any questions or specific needs you want to discuss with us.

DESCRIPTION:For ages 12+\nYou can do art and design or acting improvisation \nDelivered in 10 week blocks \nTerm 1: September 17th – October 15th/ November 5th – Dec 3rd 2025 (Followed by Youth Club)\nTerm 2: January 7th – Feb 4th 2026/Feb 25th – March 25th 2026 (Followed by Youth Club)\nTerm 3: April 15th – May 13th / June 3rd – July 1st 2026 \nWe won’t be doing shows in this session\, but honing our improvisation skills and maybe doing a gig to a paying audience\, for those who want to take this leap. If you’re keen and able\, you’ll be asked to join our Saturday Theatre Company to work with the adults. \nTaught by professional actor Rebecca Osborne. SUMMARY:Botanical Watercolour Illustration Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Discover the beauty of plants through gentle observation and watercolour in this relaxed and inspiring botanical illustration workshop. You’ll learn how to look closely at leaves\, stems\, flowers\, and seed heads\, and translate what you see into a clear\, elegant watercolour illustration. \nWe’ll explore approachable techniques for drawing and painting botanical subjects\, with guidance on line\, shape\, proportion\, and colour. You’ll learn how to layer washes\, add fine details\, and create an illustration that feels both delicate and confident – perfect for capturing the character of a plant without needing scientific precision. \nThere will be a selection of plant and botanical reference images on the table\, and you’re welcome to bring a favourite leaf or flower of your own to paint. You can work at your own pace\, with as much or as little guidance as you’d like. \nThis workshop is beginner-friendly and low-pressure\, designed to be enjoyable and encouraging rather than technical or intimidating. By the end of the session\, you’ll have your own finished botanical illustration to frame\, gift\, or keep\, along with an Introduction to Watercolour booklet to help you continue exploring watercolour painting at home. \nWe’ll have exclusive use of The Waverley’s spacious main upstairs room\, and a complimentary drink of your choice is included in your ticket. \nAll materials are provided (or feel free to bring your own favourites)\, and no prior drawing experience is needed – just curiosity\, a love of nature\, and a willingness to experiment!
