DESCRIPTION:‘The most fun I have all week – I haven’t laughed so much in ages’ \nAlternate Monday’s at the Cause Arts Centre 7-9pm \nImprovisation Workshops delivered by Laura. \nIf you’re interested but not sure what it is – just come and watch a session and have a cup of tea! \nCome and join a lovely bunch of local budding thespians\, who like to mess about\, play games\, take part in drama exercises and generally have fun while learning how to think on the spot\, make up scenes and not be restricted by the script. \nYou’ll explore scenes\, develop strong characters then improvise the content with some idea of the outcomes – Mike Leigh style. Some of our short form games are like ‘Who’s line is it anyway’ if you’re old enough to remember that! \nIf you have always wanted to try some drama\, but are not sure that you want to commit\, just pop in and do the bits that you want to\, or just come and watch a session. We’d love you to join us – and can guarantee that you’ll meet some brilliant and supportive people along the way. \n\nBasic introduction\, get to know each other\, ground rules for improv and how to let your brain avoid filtering (too much)\nIntroduction to creating characters to use in scenes – emphasis on the physical. Levels of performance style – 1-10\nFurther character development – using the voice to compliment the physical. Tone\, pitch\, accent. Introducing costume for characters.\nHow to respond to offers and add value to a scene. Can we develop a plot using the people that we have found?\nWhat do we need to do to become more believable? What clues can other actors give each other when in an improvised scene?\nFeedback – audience to watch. DESCRIPTION:Love to sing? Want to make friends? Come along to Pewsham Community Centre Tuesdays between 1.30-3.30pm. Taken by the wonderful Matt Finch. It’s all about having fun and singing in the afternoon! \nMatt runs 4 popular Good Afternoon Community Choirs every week and loves the fun of singing together and making amazing music during the afternoons.  Matt lives in Bath where he is well-known as Musical Director of the Bath Light Operatic Group\, you may well have attended one of their wonderful shows at the Bath Theatre Royal in years past.  All Good Afternoon Choir members enjoy singing Matt’s very special arrangements\, especially at the Big Sings when all the Good Afternoon Choirs join together to sing in one venue. \nA warm welcome awaits any new members\, there are NO auditions and everyone is welcome!  There is no charge for attending your first rehearsal.   Come alone or with a friend – either way Matt and the Choir will be pleased to meet you.  You will be joining over 1\,000 people singing at Good Afternoon Choirs around the South West and beyond! \nMembership forms are available to collect at every rehearsal.  The choir rehearsals are in 4 terms of 10 weeks and members pay £58 per term – this covers room and piano hire\, music\, admin and musician fees.  You do not need to join at the start of a term\, you can simply come along to any rehearsal and pick up a membership form should you wish to join the choir – your fee will then be worked out for the remainder of that term. \nIf you have any questions about the Choir please contact Tracey or Karin via email gac@grenvillemusic.co.uk or tel 01761 472468. \n

DESCRIPTION:Uniquely designed and delivered 6 x 6 week courses for beginners.\nTaught by local artist and designer Charlie who has over 25 years experience teaching art. \nTuesdays at 9.30am – 11.30am \nTerm 1 – Still life (drawing) – Sept 17th – October 22nd \nTerm 2 – Objects in interiors (drawing\, painting) – November 5th – December 10th \nTerm 3 – Portrait (painting)- January 7th – Feb 11th \nTerm 4 – Interiors (drawing)- Feb 26th – April 2nd \nTerm 5 – Landscape (painting) – April 23rd – June 4th \nTerm 6 – Still life revisited (collage\, mixed media) – June 11th – July 16th \nIn both beginners and improvers\, the sessions we will follow the classic method for learning to draw and paint. It is easy to learn to draw by copying the example of a tutor leading the group\, but this tends to produce a ‘house style’ where everyone ends up drawing in the same way. Your drawing style is as unique to you as your handwriting (if school hasn’t obliterated it) – here you will learn to enhance your own drawing style\, not replace it with ours. \n(Please note: all Improvers courses begin with drawing\, and include a talk about relevant art movements and practitioners) \nPrice includes all materials and coffee and biscuits (donations taken to help with refreshments) \nThank you – we look forward to meeting you soon

SUMMARY:Chippenham & Caine Good Afternoon Choir
DESCRIPTION:Love to sing? Want to make friends? Come along to Pewsham Community Centre Tuesdays between 1.30-3.30pm. Taken by the wonderful Matt Finch. It’s all about having fun and singing in the afternoon! \nMatt runs 4 popular Good Afternoon Community Choirs every week and loves the fun of singing together and making amazing music during the afternoons.  Matt lives in Bath where he is well-known as Musical Director of the Bath Light Operatic Group\, you may well have attended one of their wonderful shows at the Bath Theatre Royal in years past.  All Good Afternoon Choir members enjoy singing Matt’s very special arrangements\, especially at the Big Sings when all the Good Afternoon Choirs join together to sing in one venue. \nA warm welcome awaits any new members\, there are NO auditions and everyone is welcome!  There is no charge for attending your first rehearsal.   Come alone or with a friend – either way Matt and the Choir will be pleased to meet you.  You will be joining over 1\,000 people singing at Good Afternoon Choirs around the South West and beyond! \nMembership forms are available to collect at every rehearsal.  The choir rehearsals are in 4 terms of 10 weeks and members pay £58 per term – this covers room and piano hire\, music\, admin and musician fees.  You do not need to join at the start of a term\, you can simply come along to any rehearsal and pick up a membership form should you wish to join the choir – your fee will then be worked out for the remainder of that term. \nIf you have any questions about the Choir please contact Tracey or Karin via email gac@grenvillemusic.co.uk or tel 01761 472468. \n
