DESCRIPTION:In May 2023 the ‘Blues Brothers’ drove in the annual Classic Car and bike run – Will they be back or will another amazing duo be our guests? \nThis year’s Classic Car and Bike Run takes place on Sunday 18th May and will follow a 70 mile. \nClassic Cars and Bikes start arriving at 8am at Calne Leisure Centre\, SN11 0SP Car Park\, with breakfast available and provided by Calne Lions. The best opportunity for the public to see all the cars and wave them off at the start is between 8am and 10am at Calne Leisure Centre. \nThe route will go through some of the finest Wiltshire countryside\, with a coffee stop in the  Greenhouse Coffee Shop and Restaurant  Corsham SN13 9RD and finish at Sheldon School Chippenham SN14 6HJ \nDogs are welcome on a short lead and of course there are prizes for the Best Dressed Driver/Passengers\, Cutest dog\, Presidents Favourite Car and the best Teddy or other much loved toy. \nThe event is open to cars\, motorcycles and light commercial vehicles that are 25 years or older. This hugely popular event sees people from all over Chippenham and beyond descending on the Monkton Park Estate. With over 40 scarecrows\, it is one of the biggest trails in the area. \nTrail sheets are available from Monkton Park School\, The Tenth Hole Tea Room and Londis from 10am to 5pm on both days. \nOn Saturday 17th May there’s an also a BBQ\, bar and family fun day happening at Monkton Park School as part of the annual scarecrow trail – and on Sunday 18th May refreshments also available. \n  \n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:‘The most fun I have all week – I haven’t laughed so much in ages’ \nAlternate Monday’s at the Cause Arts Centre 7-9pm \nImprovisation Workshops delivered by Laura. \nIf you’re interested but not sure what it is – just come and watch a session and have a cup of tea! \nCome and join a lovely bunch of local budding thespians\, who like to mess about\, play games\, take part in drama exercises and generally have fun while learning how to think on the spot\, make up scenes and not be restricted by the script. \nYou’ll explore scenes\, develop strong characters then improvise the content with some idea of the outcomes – Mike Leigh style. Some of our short form games are like ‘Who’s line is it anyway’ if you’re old enough to remember that! \nIf you have always wanted to try some drama\, but are not sure that you want to commit\, just pop in and do the bits that you want to\, or just come and watch a session. We’d love you to join us – and can guarantee that you’ll meet some brilliant and supportive people along the way. \n\nBasic introduction\, get to know each other\, ground rules for improv and how to let your brain avoid filtering (too much)\nIntroduction to creating characters to use in scenes – emphasis on the physical. Levels of performance style – 1-10\nFurther character development – using the voice to compliment the physical. Tone\, pitch\, accent. Introducing costume for characters.\nHow to respond to offers and add value to a scene. Can we develop a plot using the people that we have found?\nWhat do we need to do to become more believable? What clues can other actors give each other when in an improvised scene?\nFeedback – audience to watch. DESCRIPTION:Love to sing? Want to make friends? Come along to Pewsham Community Centre Tuesdays between 1.30-3.30pm. Taken by the wonderful Matt Finch. It’s all about having fun and singing in the afternoon! \nMatt runs 4 popular Good Afternoon Community Choirs every week and loves the fun of singing together and making amazing music during the afternoons.  Matt lives in Bath where he is well-known as Musical Director of the Bath Light Operatic Group\, you may well have attended one of their wonderful shows at the Bath Theatre Royal in years past.  All Good Afternoon Choir members enjoy singing Matt’s very special arrangements\, especially at the Big Sings when all the Good Afternoon Choirs join together to sing in one venue. \nA warm welcome awaits any new members\, there are NO auditions and everyone is welcome!  There is no charge for attending your first rehearsal.   Come alone or with a friend – either way Matt and the Choir will be pleased to meet you.  You will be joining over 1\,000 people singing at Good Afternoon Choirs around the South West and beyond! \nMembership forms are available to collect at every rehearsal.  The choir rehearsals are in 4 terms of 10 weeks and members pay £58 per term – this covers room and piano hire\, music\, admin and musician fees.  You do not need to join at the start of a term\, you can simply come along to any rehearsal and pick up a membership form should you wish to join the choir – your fee will then be worked out for the remainder of that term. \nIf you have any questions about the Choir please contact Tracey or Karin via email gac@grenvillemusic.co.uk or tel 01761 472468. \n
