DESCRIPTION:Join us for a more relaxed visit at the REME Museum during this special opening outside of our regular hours. \nWe have designed these ‘Lights Up\, Sounds Down’ days to reduce sensory input for individuals who would prefer a quieter experience. These sessions are primarily for\, though not limited to\, anyone who has sensory processing disorder; autism; social\, emotional or mental health needs; dementia\, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or any other sensory needs. \nDuring these days we will have: \nLights On – our overhead gallery lighting will be turned on\, without spotlights\, to create a brighter environment in which to explore.\nSounds Down – we will reduce sound effects throughout the museum as much as possible by turning off most ‘surround sound’ interactives and reducing volumes.\nSensory maps – we have marked out any areas around the museum where you may find louder interactives or visual effects that we cannot turn off. This means you can choose your own route and avoid any areas as you wish. \nIf you would like to bring any sensory items (including but not limited to ear defenders\, magnifying glass\, book\, squeezy toy) that will help you or your loved one to enjoy their experience better\, please feel free to do so\, just make sure you hold onto it and take it home with you! \nFurther Information \n\nPre-booking is essential for these visits\, please use our online booking system.\nUsual entry fees apply. Rebecca is nearing the end of her stage combat instructor apprenticeship with the Academy of Performance Combat\, and has helped to guide a plethora of students from their first taste of combat to daring fight scenes and everything in between. Her teaching style is patient\, empathetic\, and encouraging; she is committed to helping each student as an individual to grow and achieve.

He also performs drum clinics/masterclass’ around the country for DW drums and Vulcan cymbals. \nRob has recorded/toured with Loreena McKennitt\, Clara Ponty\, Michel Polnareff\, Goldfrapp\, Miles Kane\, Laura Pausini\, Siouxsie Sioux\, Simple Minds\, Hugh Cornwell\, Modern English\, Innes Sibun\, Andy Partridge\, Black Box\, Jason Rebello\, Colin Moulding\, Coati Mundi and Charlie Jones.\nIn 2013 Rob became a Drum Workshop endorser and played 2 sold out shows at the Royal Festival Hall with Siouxsie as part of Yoko Ono’s Meltdown Festival.

DESCRIPTION:‘The most fun I have all week – I haven’t laughed so much in ages’ \nAlternate Monday’s at the Cause Arts Centre 7-9pm \nImprovisation Workshops delivered by Laura. \nIf you’re interested but not sure what it is – just come and watch a session and have a cup of tea! \nCome and join a lovely bunch of local budding thespians\, who like to mess about\, play games\, take part in drama exercises and generally have fun while learning how to think on the spot\, make up scenes and not be restricted by the script. \nYou’ll explore scenes\, develop strong characters then improvise the content with some idea of the outcomes – Mike Leigh style. Some of our short form games are like ‘Who’s line is it anyway’ if you’re old enough to remember that! \nIf you have always wanted to try some drama\, but are not sure that you want to commit\, just pop in and do the bits that you want to\, or just come and watch a session. We’d love you to join us – and can guarantee that you’ll meet some brilliant and supportive people along the way. \n\nBasic introduction\, get to know each other\, ground rules for improv and how to let your brain avoid filtering (too much)\nIntroduction to creating characters to use in scenes – emphasis on the physical. Levels of performance style – 1-10\nFurther character development – using the voice to compliment the physical. Tone\, pitch\, accent. Introducing costume for characters.\nHow to respond to offers and add value to a scene. Can we develop a plot using the people that we have found?\nWhat do we need to do to become more believable? What clues can other actors give each other when in an improvised scene?\nFeedback – audience to watch. DESCRIPTION: Great opportunity for neurodiverse young people \n A set of cassettes tapes from the 1980s which haven’t been accessible for many years have just been digitised as part of the Sounds of the South West project. \n Be the first to find out the content in these oral histories\, become skilled in the technical aspects of working with audio material\, get creative using the contents as a starting point\, with the chance to be mentored by experienced practitioners who will support you every step of the way. \n You’ll be able to create something special to share with others\, learn new skills\, have fun\, and maybe make some new friends. DESCRIPTION:The only limit for you this Easter is your imagination! Get hands-on with Easter-themed paper crafts at the REME Museum in our dedicated ‘Creation Station’.\nThis is a self-led activity\, though guide sheets for particular crafts will be provided if you wish to use them! \nIf you’re interested in this activity\, you may also want to look at our Easter Arts Workshops (8 – 11 April).\nAll activities included in museum entry fee. \nVisit the Museum’s galleries for an interactive experience telling the story of REME\, including our current special exhibition. \nVisit our not-for-profit Crowns Cafe for tasty refreshments\, barista-style hot drinks and freshly cooked food. \nWe have a large\, free car park with Blue Badge spaces and dedicated coach parking.\nIf you are planning to visit as a Holiday Club or similar group\, please contact us to arrange a special booking. We may be able to accommodate larger groups if you book in advance.
