DESCRIPTION:Join our welcoming\, all-inclusive group of men and women for Walking Rugby\, a fun\, low-impact version of the sport that’s great for all ages and fitness levels. \nWhat is Walking Rugby?\nIn Walking Rugby there are no scrums\, lineouts\, rucks or mauls. To make a tackle\, simply touch the ball carrier with two hands – the ball carrier must then stop and pass the ball to another player on their team.\nNo-one keeps score\, instead the emphasis is on enjoyable and social rugby for all.\nFor more information see the RFU’s video – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAdPp6FS2q4 \nWhat do I need?\nAll you need is sports wear\, studded boots (don’t worry if you don’t have any we have some we can lend you some) as we normally play on our artificial pitch\, and a bottle of water (believe us you will need it!)\, and remember …..we are WALKING! \nWhen and Where?\nWe meet every Friday at Chippenham Rugby Club\, 6.30pm until 7.30pm. Out of 10?\nThis meet up is a talking and listen club for men aged 18 and over.\nThis group meets the 2nd Monday of each month – upstairs at The Waverley. \nWhat’s it about?\nA Talk & Listen group is a peer to peer talking group run by volunteers we call Captains.\nCaptains are trained to facilitate groups in communities across the UK. \nThese groups are held in person in a safe and quiet space so men can talk and listen using the Talk Club sharing model which starts with ‘How are you? Out of 10?’. This simple question helps men to put a number on how they feel\, (1 being rock bottom and 10 being on top of the world) then trying to explain why. \nDepending on the number of men attending\, sessions last a maximum of two hours.

DESCRIPTION:Chippenham Film Club brings films to the town at the Reel Cinema each month that would not normally be seen here on the big screen. Anyone can buy tickets and attend but an annual membership gives a 35% discount off the price of all club screenings. \nDecember’s Film Club screening is ‘Perfect Days’ which is a 2023 drama film directed by Wim Wenders from a script written by Wenders and Takuma Takasaki. A co-production between Japan and Germany\, the film follows the routine life of Hirayama (Kōji Yakusho)\, a reserved\, kind-hearted Tokyo toilet cleaner\, who finds beauty in the ordinary. \n‘Perfect Days’ premiered at the 76th Cannes Film Festival\, where it competed for the Palme d’Or and won the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury and the Best Actor Award for Kōji Yakusho. \nIt was nominated for the Best International Feature Film at the 96th Academy Awards\, becoming the first film directed by a non-Japanese filmmaker to be nominated as the Japanese entry.

DESCRIPTION:Uniquely designed and delivered 6 x 6 week courses for those with some experience or who want to extend their skills further. \nTuesdays at 12.30 – 2.30pm at the Cause Arts Centre\, Causeway Chippenham (you can find all of our locations at the bottom of our website with maps) \nTerm 1: September 16th – October 21st 2025 – Still Life (drawing)\nTerm 2: November 4th – December 9th 2025 – Objects (interiors)\nTerm 3: January 6th – February 10th 2026 – Portraits (painting)\nTerm 4: February 24th – March 31st 2026. – Interiors (drawing)\nTerm 5: April 14th – May 19th 2026 – Landscape (painting)\nTerm 6: June 2nd – July 7th 2026 – Still Life (mixed media\, collage) \nTaught by local artist and designer Charlie who has over 25 years experience teaching art in a range of settings from Further and Higher Education colleges and universities and leisure courses. \nPlease note: courses begin with drawing\, and include a talk about relevant art movements and practitioners. \n£102 per term (with an optional £10 materials donation) – 6 weeks of 2 hour sessions\, includes materials and tea/coffee (donations welcome to help with refreshment costs).
