DESCRIPTION:FOR AGES 18+ \nDrama Workshops with their basis in improvisation and devising\, but including script. \n‘The most fun I have all week’ \nMondays in 5 week blocks at the Cause Arts Centre\, Causeway Chippenham\nImprovers 7.30 – 9pm (Beginners 6 -7.30pm) \nFor those who’ve been coming to us for a while\, or who like to move a bit faster\, this session is for you. \nCome and join a lovely bunch of local budding thespians\, who like to mess about\, play games\, take part in drama exercises and generally have fun while learning how to think on the spot\, make up scenes and not always be restricted by the script. \nYou’ll explore scenes\, develop strong characters then improvise the content with some idea of the outcomes – Mike Leigh style. \nWe’ll also be developing some scenes and creating longer pieces\, so be prepared. DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday 24th February\, The Waverley in Chippenham will host a music -based quiz night to help raise funds for Chippenham Sounds\, a non-profit Community Interest Company that aims to support local young musicians by providing: affordable rehearsal spaces; safe gigs for young people; youth cafes & open mic nights; industry careers events; and recording studio access. \nTeams must be pre-booked by contacting The Waverley and it cost £5 to enter a team (max team size 5 people) – CASH only please on the night. Also on the night you can buy one answer per round for £1 and £4 buys you a joker to be played before the round to double your score \nThe winning team will receive half the cash pot as the prize plus a round of drinks (beer\, cider\, wine or soft drinks) and the remaining 50% will be donated to Chippenham Sounds.

DESCRIPTION:Chippenham Art Group meets monthly on Wednesdays in St Paul’s Church Hall\, Greenway Lane\, Chippenham. It’s led by artist Fran Young and organised by our experienced community services coordinator Pam Ollis. \nProjects ranging from painting and drawing to collage\, printing\, crafts\, clay modelling and more. We work at a leisurely pace with plenty of time for conversation and connection. No previous experience of art is necessary and everyone works at their own pace. There is a pop-up café from 10.15am where you can meet friends and make new ones over tea/coffee and home-made cakes. \nOur March concert\, in celebration of International Women’s Day\, consists of music by women composers\, featuring Alice Verne-Bredt: Phantasie Trio\, the sublime slow movement of Cécile Chaminade’s Trio no2\, and Rosalind Ellicott’s Trio in D minor\, alongside music by two ‘locals’: a scherzo by Bath composer Kate Loder and a concerto movement by Dora Bright who for many years lived at Babington House. \nConcerts last c45m and entrance – or rather\, exit! – is by donation\, with a retiring collection.
