SUMMARY:Special Screening of War Horse on Remembrance Sunday
DESCRIPTION:Reel Cinema in Chippenham are hosting a special screening of the critically acclaimed and international smash-hit play War Horse this Remembrance Sunday (12A). \nThe National Theatre Live will broadcast the recording\, based on the Michael Morpurgo novel\, at cinemas across the UK. \nWar Horse tells the story of a young boy called Albert and his horse Joey\, set against the backdrop of the First World War. The movie adaptation of War Horse – famously used the Wiltshire village of Castle Combe as a backdrop to scenes in the film. \nAt the outbreak of World War One\, Albert’s beloved horse\, Joey\, is sold to the Cavalry and shipped to France. Though still not old enough to enlist he embarks on a treacherous mission to find him and bring him home. \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nNow seen by more than 8 million people around the world\, this powerfully moving and imaginative drama is a show of phenomenal inventiveness. At its heart are astonishing life-size puppets by South Africa’s Handspring Puppet Company\, who bring breathing\, galloping\, charging horses to thrilling life on stage. \n\nLisa Burger\, joint chief executive of the National Theatre\, said: “At a time when live performance is scarce and much missed due to the ongoing impact of Covid-19\, we aim to continue to bring the best of British theatre to cinema audiences around the country.” \nThe screening will take place at 6.30pm on November 11. Tickets £15/£12.50. To book tickets visit the Reel Cinema website here. For further information about National Theatre Live visit www.ntlive.com \n
