DESCRIPTION:Do you want to find time to relax? Do you love being in nature? Do you want to spend a day of relaxing and connective activities that nourish your soul? \nIf so\, then come along and join in one of our 4 Woodland Wellbeing Retreat Days\, starting on 26th June 2021. Other dates are 24th July\, 14th August and 25th September 2021. \nThese events provide a wonderful opportunity for people to have some time away for themselves\, connecting with nature\, with themselves and with like-minded people. The days comprise of a mix of meditations\, mindfulness practices\, shamanic journeying\, chakra balancing and energy alignment\, sound therapy and healing plus more. At the end of the day people will feel relaxed\, recharged and replenished. The groups are being facilitated by two qualified and professional therapists: Dawn is a psychotherapeutic counsellor and Sara is an intuitive healer. \nThe mornings will be held in the Hayloft\, followed by lunch and “me & just being time” before heading up to the private woodland for the afternoon. The venue is Highway Hill\, just outside of Calne\, Wiltshire which is set in 100 acres of private woodland in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

DESCRIPTION:Rotary Rovers Return – The return of the native classic car run! \nBetween 8am and 9.30am on Sunday 23rd May one hundred Classic Cars will meet and drive off from Calne Leisure Centre Car park. The Calne Lions will provide breakfast butties as drivers set off on a fascinating 70 mile run through the beautiful Wiltshire countryside. \nThere is to be an interesting stop at Middlewick House with the drive finishing at Casterley Barn near Pewsey.  Further support on the day will be provided by Rotarians and a great team of volunteers\, the event will be a true community effort. \nThe car run features VIP Teddy Bears and much loved dogs in some of the cars. Half the proceeds will go to The Bobby Van Trust and the remainder to Rotary charities.  The Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust is a local charity specialising in providing home security improvements\, fire protection equipment and advice to victims of crime\, the elderly and disadvantaged. \nFor the first time the event is being hosted by The Chippenham Rotary Club. Costumes are welcome\, as are any photos you wish to share to reminisce of your seventies experience… even if they’re baby photos or fancy dress. \nAllsorts choir is for all sorts of people. We have fun singing and have enjoyed keeping ourselves entertained online each week\, but have missed performing\, so Marius came up with the idea to open up a session for friends and family\, and friends of those friends and family\, to join us for an occasional themed evening and as the previous two events were such a success\, we figured another would be just as groovy man! \nDon’t forget to share\, share\, share\, and join us for this love-in. DESCRIPTION:The second part of Chippenham Museum’s exhibition series celebrating North Wiltshire’s creativity\, Spotlight On features 40 works by local artists. Open Monday to Saturday with free entry\, visitors can drop-in 10am to 1pm or book a free timed ticket at 1pm\, 2pm or 3pm to enjoy sole use of the museum. \nThe collection has been acquired by the museum in the past five years to ensure our collection better represents the amazing artistic talent found in this area. The exhibition includes paintings\, sculpture\, ceramics and photography; almost all of which are on display for the first time and have been donated to the museum by the artists. \nVisitors to John Coles Park and Monkton Park can spot ten images of the exhibition’s artworks on trees with trail Art Outdoors\, sponsored by The Kington Langley Arts Society. In fair Chippenham\, where we lay our scene.” \nLocal historian Lucy Whitfield also investigates the history of local houses\, as well as finding obscure historical women for The Women Who Made Me project and occasionally dressing up as a Saxon. She has been invited by Chippenham Museum to do her best ‘A House Through Time’ impression and tell you about two different dwellings in Chippenham she’s investigated recently. You’ll get a different perspective on the town’s history via the people who lived within their walls. There’ll be agricultural labourers\, military heroes\, widows\, a link to Kilvert\, a butcher\, a baker… and a cycle shop owner. \nBooking is essential for this free talk via Zoom\, which will last approximately 50 minutes followed by questions. Costumes are welcome\, so nuns & pick-pockets\, cabaret stars & wild west women\, chimney sweeps & High School T-birds\, can all socialise together on screen. \nBe the one that we want and join us for this free event by simply clicking the Zoom link on the evening. \nAllsorts choir is for all sorts of people. SUMMARY:The Corona Monologues - Radio pieces
DESCRIPTION:Sit back\, grab a cuppa and listen to seven monologues set during lockdown\, performed by Rag and Bone Arts CIC’s adult drama group. \nWe have produced seven very different short pieces\, all around 6-7 minutes long. Listen to them one at a time\, or take the whole hour to indulge and work out if there is any link between the characters. \nThe Corona Monologues were first performed by the group in December over Zoom\, none of them had heard one another’s pieces until the night – when their characters were revealed to each other. Now re-recorded with the benefit of that information\, we are bringing them to your home. \nThe pieces dip in to the strange times we are living in and reflect a breadth of different struggles.
