DESCRIPTION:Wiltshire Rural Music are proud to present the 2022 Liz Lawrence Young Musician’s Award winner Gabriel Longbotham. \nGabriel was one of our Bursary students\, specialising in the organ and chose piano as his instrument to audition for this prestigious award. His winner’s concert will be a varied programme of music across both piano and guitar\, as well as his voice as he showcases some of his own compositions\, classical works and cover songs. Gabriel attended St Augustine’s School in Trowbridge and is now studying Music at Royal Northern College in Manchester. The venue in Chippenham was chosen ​because of its stunning ​grand piano and full size organ\, which Gabriel ​is looking forward to trying out especially for us.

DESCRIPTION:Neptune Swim School’s popular intensive swimming crash courses will be running this summer at Starfish Hydrotherapy Pool\, Malmesbury Road\, Chippenham. \nOur crash courses are available for children aged 3 years+\, the perfect way to introduce your young child to the swimming lesson environment and learn some basic water skills. \nThe intensive courses are also an ideal opportunity for swimmers to move further along on their swim program\, improve their existing strokes and learn exciting new skills. \nWe currently offer crash courses for our Ducklings\, Turtles and Jellyfish stages (equivalent to Swim England Stages 1-4.) \nAll courses are 5 days\, with children swimming every day for 25 minutes. We welcome all swimmers\, including those who do not currently swim with Neptune Swim School.

DESCRIPTION:At the end of the 18th century\, on an isolated island in Brittany\, a female painter is obliged to paint a wedding portrait of a young woman. \nStarring Noémie Merlant and Adèle Haenel\, the film is a beautiful\, almost timeless study of power and passion in which observed becomes observer. \nSelected for the Palme d’Or at Cannes in 2019\, it won the Queer Palm\, becoming the first film directed by a woman to win the award\, Celine Sciamma also won the award for best screenplay at Cannes. \nPortrait of a Lady on Fire was voted the 30th greatest film of all time in the Sight & Sound 2022 critics’ poll. \nAll Chippenham Film Club events are open to members and non-members.
