DESCRIPTION:Neptune Swim School’s popular intensive swimming crash courses will be running this summer at Starfish Hydrotherapy Pool\, Malmesbury Road\, Chippenham. \nOur crash courses are available for children aged 3 years+\, the perfect way to introduce your young child to the swimming lesson environment and learn some basic water skills. \nThe intensive courses are also an ideal opportunity for swimmers to move further along on their swim program\, improve their existing strokes and learn exciting new skills. \nWe currently offer crash courses for our Ducklings\, Turtles and Jellyfish stages (equivalent to Swim England Stages 1-4.) \nAll courses are 5 days\, with children swimming every day for 25 minutes. We welcome all swimmers\, including those who do not currently swim with Neptune Swim School.

DESCRIPTION:At the end of the 18th century\, on an isolated island in Brittany\, a female painter is obliged to paint a wedding portrait of a young woman. \nStarring Noémie Merlant and Adèle Haenel\, the film is a beautiful\, almost timeless study of power and passion in which observed becomes observer. \nSelected for the Palme d’Or at Cannes in 2019\, it won the Queer Palm\, becoming the first film directed by a woman to win the award\, Celine Sciamma also won the award for best screenplay at Cannes. \nPortrait of a Lady on Fire was voted the 30th greatest film of all time in the Sight & Sound 2022 critics’ poll. \nAll Chippenham Film Club events are open to members and non-members.

DESCRIPTION:Returning to school after the summer holidays can be a daunting prospect for many.\nIt can cause stress\, anxiety and unease. \nPerhaps your child is moving up to a secondary school.\nPerhaps they are moving to a different school.\nPerhaps your child is sensitive to change and finds it difficult to deal with.\nPerhaps their experience of being at school is not always enjoyable.\nPerhaps they just need a space in which they can re-charge and re-set their mind for the new school year. \nI understand how stressful and demanding the transition can be both for children and parents. \nThis summer I’d like to help you make the experience a bit easier\, smoother and less stressful. \nThat’s why we’ve decided to hold a mindfulness and meditation workshop. \nWhat would it be like to spend 2 hours in a space in which your child can totally relax\, escape their worries\, be free of anxiety and stress ? \nWhat would it be like for you and your child to spend 2 hours exploring your ability to find peace through fun mindful activities and games\, through listening to soothing sounds and a guided visualisation? \nWhat would it be like to learn techniques which can help you and your children ease their anxiety helping them manage their return to school better? \nWhat would it feel like to be with your child\, be truly present with them and create genuine connection for you so that you can support them during the transition back to school and beyond? \nOur mindfulness and meditation workshop for parents and children offers just that. \nI’m Katerina\, founder of MindCraft\, and at the very end of the summer holidays I bring you a unique workshop for children and their parents. DESCRIPTION:Born in Poland in 1898\, Peter Potworowski was part of the Parisian Artistic community of the 1920s that included the likes of Picasso\, Bonnard\, and Léger. After the Nazi-occupation of his home-land Potworowski settled in England in 1943\, beginning a long association with the West Country. \nThe majority of works in this selling exhibition are from his time living in Cornwall\, Devon\, Somerset and Wiltshire. In 1949 he joined the teaching staff at the Bath Academy of Art\, Corsham\, where his own work as an artist matured in contact with the English landscape. \nChippenham Museum\, a Chippenham Town Council facility\, is free entry\, open Monday-Saturday 10am-4pm\, including bank holidays.
