DESCRIPTION:Ellie Thompson is an artist currently practicing in the South-West. Since graduating from The Ruskin School of Art in 2022\, Ellie has exhibited a host of hapless characters across Oxford\, London\, Bath\, Bristol\, Rugby and Corsham. \nThompson’s interest in schadenfreude (the joy derived from another’s misfortune)\, anatomy and a cartoonish sense of humour informs each of her soft sculptures. Her puppet-like characters are at once extinct and alive\, forever stuck in a sticky situation. \nHarm Joy features a cast of perpetually wretched skeletons\, all made out of felt fabric and created by Thompson over the last year. Though each character is motionless\, they are animated by their all-seeing yet unknowing eyes.

The family bravely hide Jews in their small clock shop. The consequences are dark and devastating. \nThe production looks not only at the story from Corrie’s viewpoint but also from a German army officer’s angle as well. How do they both regard their families\, their faith\, the Jewish people and the occupation of Holland? \nThey begin in different worlds\, but eventually come face to face with each other. DESCRIPTION:NEW SERIES\nTrio Paradis (Jacquelyn Bevan – piano\, Lisa Betteridge – violin & Linda Stocks – cello) bring a brand new series of monthly Café Concerts to Chippenham. \nEvery first Tuesday of each month at 11am in the beautiful surroundings and fine acoustic of St Andrew’s Church they will play an informal concert with a pop-up café from 10.30am\, where you can meet friends and make new ones over tea/coffee and cakes\, and then enjoy live music. \n‘Iberia’ is a collection of music by mostly Spanish composers to bring us some sunshine during February\, including Turina’s Circulo and works by de Falla\, Fernandez-Arbos\, Albeniz and others. \nThe concert lasts c45m and entrance is by donation\, with a retiring collection. All ages welcome\, including children. A cake and a drink in the café costs £3.50. Alexandra Borbély won the European Actress award at the European Film Awards for her performance in the film.
