DESCRIPTION:On 2 September 1942\, Eric Ravilious joined the crew of a military plane that was embarking on a search party for a missing aircraft off the coast of Iceland. Four days after that plane also failed to return\, the RAF declared the crew lost in action. \nEric Ravilious is as compelling and enigmatic as his art. Set against the dramatic wartime locations that inspire him\, Margy Kinmonth’s film brings to life this brilliant but still grossly undervalued British artist. Caught in the crossfire of war 80 years ago\, Ravilious’s legacy largely sank without trace\, until now. Made with the blessing of the Ravilious Estate\, this first full length feature documentary about Ravilious unfolds in his own words\, through previously unseen private correspondence and rare archive film. \nThe film features the voices of Freddie Fox\, Tamsin Greig\, Jeremy Irons & Harriet Walter and asks what his life and art tells us about the elusive concept of Englishness\, and what it means to be a war artist.

DESCRIPTION:Seven-mile charity walk for Alzheimer’s Support and a great day out for the whole family! \nPull on your walking boots and take part in A Walk to Remember on Saturday 8th June. \nIt’s a circular seven-miles through some of North Wiltshire’s loveliest countryside starting and finishing at Bowood Estate at the kind permission of the charity’s patron Lady Lansdowne. \nThe day starts with bacon or veggie butties then\, after a fun group warm-up\, we head out into the beautiful north Wiltshire countryside. Everyone walks at their own pace. You can walk with others\, stride ahead or do your own thing. There are plenty of great views and scenic places to stop for a picnic along the way. And marshals will be on hand to make sure you find your way. \nBack at the estate\, our post-walk celebrations include medals for all the finishers\, commemorative photos\, plenty of tea and cake and chance to relax with other walkers. \nPlease sign up and join us in June – you’ll have a great day out and be walking for dementia with every step.

A highlight of this initiative was the re-recording of the song “Tender” at Damon Albarn’s London studio\, featuring Ray and Lois Winstone alongside two Kandu Arts looked-after young people\, providing them with a once-in-a-lifetime experience. \nTo mark this milestone\, the event will also honour Ray Winstone’s remarkable 50-year career in the film industry. The evening will include a special Q&A session with Ed Deedigan of Kandu Arts\, providing unique insights into the making of the film and its impact. \nThe festivities will commence at 7:15 PM with the one-off screening of the 50th Anniversary of the Chippenham Folk Festival Documentary\, produced by Kandu Arts.
