DESCRIPTION:Open Monday – Saturday\, 10am – 4pm\, until 8 March. \nThis exhibition is the fourth in Chippenham Museum’s Spotlight series dedicated to its growing Modern and Contemporary Art Collection. \nThe project began in 2019 with the desire to celebrate the rich artistic history of this part of North Wiltshire. As a permanent collection\, it acts as a source of inspiration\, education and enjoyment for all. \nAt the heart of the Modern and Contemporary Art Collection are works that acknowledge the legacy of the Bath Academy of Art in Corsham\, a pioneering residential art school that counted some of the biggest names in modern and contemporary art amongst its teachers and students. \nNorth Wiltshire’s creativity proudly extends beyond the Academy\, and the collection records and celebrates the many contemporary artists who continue to live and work in this area today. \nThe exhibition featured work by the following artists:\nKay Le Seelleur Ara\, Kenneth Armitage\, Guy Bigland\, Alma Boyes\, Susie Brooks\, John Chilver\, Dominic Clare\, Andrew Cross\, William Crozier\, Anna Currey\, Simone Dawood\, Stephen Ellis\, Alex Faulkner\, Selina Fischer\, Astrid Furnival\, John Furnival\, Katherine Gili\, Patrick Haines\, Keith Harrison\, Verity James\, Richard Kennedy\, David King\, Julia Manning\, Michael Stubbs\, Marianne Fox-Ockinga\, Ione Parkin\, Tim Parry-Williams\, Michael Pennie\, Jackie Pope\, Terry Pope\, Paul Rudall\, James Scott\, Robert Scott\, William Scott\, Jack Shirreff\, Alice Sielle\, Hugh Hamshaw Thomas\, Julia Vezza\, Helen Wilks\, and Alistair Young. \nFurther details about the artworks can also be found in the accompanying catalogue available in the museum shop.

DESCRIPTION:Cepen Lodge care home\, in Chippenham have invited members of the local community to their monthly dementia café. \nThe first session starting on the 31st May 2024 will be hosted in conjunction with Chippenham Police\, who will be joining to discuss the Herbert Protocol and offer dementia wristbands to the community to support those who may leave their homes and get lost. \nTaking place on the last Friday of every month at 11am\, guests will have a chance to meet other carers supporting others living with dementia. Free to all\, the dementia café at the home provides small respite and social support. \nDuring the care group session\, guests will also have a chance to meet the team at the home\, to discuss any questions they might have about care. \nSenior General Manager Jade said: “We’re really looking forward to making more friends in our local community. The condition itself can be quite lonely and frightening\, and the more support we can provide to each other\, the better. If anyone is unable to make it on the day but would like to pop in for a tour and a cup of tea\, our doors are always open.” \nCepen Lodge care home is run by Barchester Healthcare\, one of the UK’s largest care providers\, which is committed to delivering high-quality care across its care homes and hospitals. Cepen Lodge provides residential care and dementia care for 63 residents from respite care to long term stays. \n

Situated within it’s usual spot of The Island in Monkton Park\, the event will once more feature a full roster of live\, festive entertainment. \nThe trail will be open Thursday 28th November – Sunday 1st December (inclusive). \nWith family friendly activities\, workshops and performances throughout the afternoon\, leading on to more adult based evening entertainment. Showcasing live Music and Comedy from some excellent musicians and comedians\, to Film Screenings\, Festive Workshops\, Artisan Market stall traders and even a live Brass Band playing Christmas Carols by Candlelight! \nThe event is funded by Chippenham Town Council in collaboration with Melt Productions and is a completely free experience for the local community and surrounding areas to enjoy. \nAll seating will be allocated on a first come\, first serve basis\, so please ensure you arrive nice and early if you are keen to watch any of the live shows and entertainment. \nThis years’ focal point will once again be the beautiful wooden Roundhouse\, a cosy\, heated wooden structure serving up delicious hot and cold drinks and tasty food from local vendors.
